²² Now the evening before the man arrived, the hand of the Lord was on me,^(A) and he opened my mouth^(B) before the man came to me in the morning. So my mouth was opened and I was no longer silent.^(C)

³ the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel^(A) the priest, the son of Buzi, by the Kebar River in the land of the Babylonians.^[a] There the hand of the Lord was on him.^(B)

²⁶ I will make your tongue stick to the roof^(A) of your mouth so that you will be silent and unable to rebuke them, for they are a rebellious people.^{(B) 27} But when I speak to you, I will open your mouth and you shall say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says.’^(C) Whoever will listen let them listen, and whoever will refuse let them refuse; for they are a rebellious people.^(D)

The Valley of Dry Bones

37 The hand of the Lord was on me,^(A) and he brought me out by the Spirit^(B) of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley;^(C) it was full of bones.^(D)

²⁶ on that day a fugitive will come to tell you^(A) the news. ²⁷ At that time your mouth will be opened; you will speak with him and will no longer be silent.^(B) So you will be a sign to them, and they will know that I am the Lord.^(C)”

⁶⁴ Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue set free, and he began to speak,^(A) praising God.

The Temple Area Restored

40 In the twenty-fifth year of our exile, at the beginning of the year, on the tenth of the month, in the fourteenth year after the fall of the city^(A)—on that very day the hand of the Lord was on me^(B) and he took me there.

²² The hand of the Lord^(A) was on me there, and he said to me, “Get up and go^(B) out to the plain,^(C) and there I will speak to you.”
