¹⁷ “Yet ^(A)your people say, ^(B)‘The way of the Lord is not just,’ when it is their own way that is not just.

²⁴ He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be ^(A)a hard man, reaping ^(B)where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, ²⁵ so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here, ^(C)you have what is yours.’ ²⁶ But his master answered him, ‘You ^(D)wicked and ^(E)slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed?

²⁹ Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ O house of Israel, are my ways not just? Is it not your ways that are not just?

^25 (A)“Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear now, O house of Israel: Is my way not just? Is it not your ways that are not just?

²¹ for I was afraid of you, because you are ^(A)a severe man. You take ^(B)what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’ ²² He said to him, ^(C)‘I will condemn you with your own words, ^(D)you wicked servant! You knew that I was ^(E)a severe man, taking what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow?

²⁰ Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ O house of Israel, ^(A)I will judge each of you according to his ways.”
