¹¹ “‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says:

²² Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt.^(A) I will break both his arms, the good arm as well as the broken one, and make the sword fall from his hand.^{(B) 23} I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them through the countries.^{(C) 24} I will strengthen^(D) the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword^(E) in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan^(F) before him like a mortally wounded man. ²⁵ I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh will fall limp. Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I put my sword^(G) into the hand of the king of Babylon and he brandishes it against Egypt.^(H)

⁷ “For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: From the north I am going to bring against Tyre Nebuchadnezzar^[a](A) king of Babylon, king of kings,^(B) with horses and chariots,^(C) with horsemen and a great army.

²⁵ The Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “I am about to bring punishment on Amon god of Thebes,^(B) on Pharaoh,^(C) on Egypt and her gods^(D) and her kings, and on those who rely^(E) on Pharaoh. ²⁶ I will give them into the hands^(F) of those who want to kill them—Nebuchadnezzar king^(G) of Babylon and his officers. Later, however, Egypt will be inhabited^(H) as in times past,” declares the Lord.

¹³ This is the message the Lord spoke to Jeremiah the prophet about the coming of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon^(A) to attack Egypt:^(B)

¹⁰ Then say to them, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I will send for my servant^(A) Nebuchadnezzar^(B) king of Babylon, and I will set his throne^(C) over these stones I have buried here; he will spread his royal canopy^(D) above them.
