⁶ Therefore night will come over you, without visions,
    and darkness, without divination.^(A)
The sun will set for the prophets,^(B)
    and the day will go dark for them.^(C)
7 The seers will be ashamed^(D)
    and the diviners disgraced.^(E)
They will all cover^(F) their faces^(G)
    because there is no answer from God.^(H)”

¹¹ “The days are coming,”^(A) declares the Sovereign Lord,
    “when I will send a famine through the land—
not a famine of food or a thirst for water,
    but a famine^(B) of hearing the words of the Lord.^(C)
12 People will stagger from sea to sea
    and wander from north to east,
searching for the word of the Lord,
    but they will not find it.^(D)

⁶ May my tongue cling to the roof^(A) of my mouth
    if I do not remember^(B) you,
if I do not consider Jerusalem^(C)
    my highest joy.

¹⁵ Open my lips, Lord,^(A)
    and my mouth will declare your praise.

¹⁰ There are those who hate the one who upholds justice in court^(A)
    and detest the one who tells the truth.^(B)

¹⁷ Ephraim is joined to idols;
    leave him alone!
