³ Speak to him and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:

² “Son of man, take up a lament^(A) concerning Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him:

Deliverance of Israel

27 In that day,^(A)

³⁰ This is what the Lord says: ‘I am going to deliver Pharaoh^(A) Hophra king of Egypt into the hands of his enemies who want to kill him, just as I gave Zedekiah^(B) king of Judah into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, the enemy who wanted to kill him.’”^(C)

³ Then another sign appeared in heaven:^(A) an enormous red dragon^(B) with seven heads^(C) and ten horns^(D) and seven crowns^(E) on its heads. ⁴ Its tail swept a third^(F) of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth.^(G) The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child^(H) the moment he was born.

⁹ Egypt will become a desolate wasteland. Then they will know that I am the Lord.

“‘Because you said, “The Nile^(A) is mine; I made it,^(B)” ¹⁰ therefore I am against you^(C) and against your streams, and I will make the land of Egypt^(D) a ruin and a desolate waste^(E) from Migdol^(F) to Aswan,^(G) as far as the border of Cush.^[a](H)
