^20 (A)And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm.

^11 (A)There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the Spirit of the Holy God. And in the days of your ^[a]father, light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him; and King Nebuchadnezzar your ^[b]father—your father the king—made him chief of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers. ¹² Inasmuch as an excellent spirit, knowledge, understanding, interpreting dreams, solving riddles, and ^[c]explaining enigmas were found in this Daniel, ^(B)whom the king named Belteshazzar, now let Daniel be called, and he will give the interpretation.”

²⁷ Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, “The secret which the king has demanded, the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, and the soothsayers cannot declare to the king. ^28 (A)But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar ^(B)what will be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, were these:

³ So Solomon answered all her questions; there was nothing ^[a]so difficult for the king that he could not explain it to her.

²⁹ And ^(A)God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore. ³⁰ Thus Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the men ^(B)of the East and all ^(C)the wisdom of Egypt. ³¹ For he was ^(D)wiser than all men—^(E)than Ethan the Ezrahite, ^(F)and Heman, Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was in all the surrounding nations. ^32 (G)He spoke three thousand proverbs, and his ^(H)songs were one thousand and five.
