⁸ He will kill with the sword ^(A)your daughters on the mainland. ^(B)He will set up a siege wall against you and throw up a mound against you, and raise ^(C)a roof of shields against you.

²² Into his right hand comes the divination for Jerusalem, ^(A)to set battering rams, to open the mouth with murder, to lift up the voice with shouting, to set battering rams against the gates, ^(B)to cast up mounds, to build siege towers.

^4 (A)And in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came with all his army against Jerusalem, and laid siege to it. And they built siegeworks all around it.

²⁴ Behold, ^(A)the siege mounds have come up to the city to take it, and ^(B)because of sword and famine and pestilence ^(C)the city is given into the hands of the Chaldeans who are fighting against it. What you spoke has come to pass, and behold, you see it.

¹⁵ And all the men who were with Joab came and besieged him in ^(A)Abel of Beth-maacah. ^(B)They cast up a mound against the city, and it stood against the rampart, and they were battering the wall to throw it down.
