^47 (A)And the host shall stone them and cut them down with their swords. ^(B)They shall kill their sons and their daughters, and ^(C)burn up their houses.

²¹ ‘Say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: ^(A)Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the delight of your eyes, and the yearning of your soul, and ^(B)your sons and your daughters whom you left behind shall fall by the sword.

^40 (A)They shall bring up a crowd against you, ^(B)and they shall stone you and cut you to pieces with their swords. ^41 (C)And they shall ^(D)burn your houses and ^(E)execute judgments upon you in the sight of many women. ^(F)I will make you stop playing the whore, and ^(G)you shall also give payment no more.

^8 (A)The Chaldeans burned the king's house and the house of the people, ^(B)and broke down the walls of Jerusalem.

⁶ “Therefore thus says the Lord God: ^(A)Woe to the bloody city, to ^(B)the pot whose corrosion is in it, and whose corrosion has not gone out of it! Take out of it piece after piece, without making any choice.^[a]

²⁹ and ^(A)they shall deal with you in hatred and take away all the fruit of your labor ^(B)and leave you naked and bare, and ^(C)the nakedness of your whoring shall be uncovered. Your lewdness and your whoring

²⁵ And I will direct my jealousy against you, ^(A)that they may deal with you in fury. They shall cut off your nose and your ears, and your survivors shall fall by the sword. ^(B)They shall seize your sons and your daughters, and your survivors shall be devoured by fire.

^6 (A)Kill old men outright, young men and maidens, little children and women, but ^(B)touch no one on whom is the mark. And ^(C)begin at my sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were before the house.

¹³ And he burned the house of the Lord, and the king's house and all the houses of Jerusalem; every great house he burned down.

⁴ For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city and the houses of the kings of Judah that were torn down to make a defense against ^(A)the siege mounds and against the sword: ⁵ They are coming in ^(B)to fight against the Chaldeans and to fill them^[a] with the dead bodies of men whom I shall strike down ^(C)in my anger and my wrath, ^(D)for I have hidden my face from this city because of all their evil.
