³² Thus says the Lord God:

⁴ You have become guilty ^(A)by the blood that you have shed, and defiled by the idols that you have made, and you have brought ^(B)your days near, the appointed time of^[a] your years has come. ^(C)Therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a mockery to all the countries. ⁵ Those who are near and those who are far from you will mock you; ^(D)your name is defiled; ^(E)you are full of tumult.

^19 (A)The great city ^(B)was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell, and God ^(C)remembered ^(D)Babylon the great, ^(E)to make her drain the cup of the wine of the fury of his wrath.

²² Jesus answered, ^(A)“You do not know what you are asking. Are you able ^(B)to drink the cup that I am to drink?” They said to him, “We are able.” ²³ He said to them, ^(C)“You will drink ^(D)my cup, but to sit at my right hand and at my left is not mine to grant, ^(E)but it is for those for whom it has been ^(F)prepared by my Father.”

³ therefore prophesy, and say, Thus says the Lord God: Precisely because ^(A)they made you desolate and crushed you from all sides, so that you became the possession of the rest of the nations, and ^(B)you became the talk and evil gossip of the people,
