²³ Also I raised My hand in an oath to those in the wilderness, that ^(A)I would scatter them among the Gentiles and disperse them throughout the countries,

¹⁵ So ^(A)I also raised My hand in an oath to them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, ^(B)‘flowing with milk and honey,’ ^(C)the glory of all lands,

⁵ The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land ^(A)raised up his ^[a]hand to heaven ⁶ and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, ^(B)who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, ^(C)that there should be delay no longer,

⁴ I will hand them over to ^(A)trouble, to all kingdoms of the earth, because of ^(B)Manasseh the son of Hezekiah, king of Judah, for what he did in Jerusalem.

⁶⁴ “Then the Lord ^(A)will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other, and ^(B)there you shall serve other gods, which neither you nor your fathers have known—wood and stone. ⁶⁵ And ^(C)among those nations you shall find no rest, nor shall the sole of your foot have a resting place; ^(D)but there the Lord will give you a ^[a]trembling heart, failing eyes, and ^(E)anguish of soul. ⁶⁶ Your life shall hang in doubt before you; you shall fear day and night, and have no assurance of life. ^67 (F)In the morning you shall say, ‘Oh, that it were evening!’ And at evening you shall say, ‘Oh, that it were morning!’ because of the fear which terrifies your heart, and ^(G)because of the sight which your eyes see.

⁶⁸ “And the Lord ^(H)will take you back to Egypt in ships, by the way of which I said to you, ^(I)‘You shall never see it again.’ And there you shall be offered for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you.”
