⁵ Whether they hear or refuse to hear (for they are a rebellious house), they shall know that there has been a prophet among them.^(A)

³³ When this comes—and come it will!—then they shall know that a prophet has been among them.^(A)

²⁷ But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God’; let those who will hear, hear, and let those who refuse to hear, refuse, for they are a rebellious house.^(A)

²² If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.^(A)

¹² As you enter the house, greet it. ¹³ If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. ¹⁴ If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet as you leave that house or town.^{(A) 15} Truly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.^(B)

⁴⁶ Then both Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, saying, “It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken first to you. Since you reject it and judge yourselves to be unworthy of eternal life, we are now turning to the gentiles.^(A)

¹⁰ But whenever you enter a town and they do not welcome you, go out into its streets and say, ¹¹ ‘Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off in protest against you. Yet know this: the kingdom of God has come near.’^{[a](A) 12} I tell you, on that day it will be more tolerable for Sodom than for that town.^(B)

⁷ You shall speak my words to them, whether they hear or refuse to hear, for they are a rebellious house.^(A)

¹⁵ For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing:^{(A) 16} to the one group a fragrance from death^[a] to death, to the other a fragrance from life^[b] to life. Who is qualified for these things?^{(B) 17} For we are not peddlers of God’s word like so many,^[c] but as persons of sincerity, as persons sent from God, we are speaking in Christ before God.^(C)

³ What if some were unfaithful? Will their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God?^(A)
