⁵ And whether they listen or fail to listen^(A)—for they are a rebellious people^(B)—they will know that a prophet has been among them.^(C)

³³ “When all this comes true—and it surely will—then they will know that a prophet has been among them.^(A)”

²⁷ But when I speak to you, I will open your mouth and you shall say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says.’^(A) Whoever will listen let them listen, and whoever will refuse let them refuse; for they are a rebellious people.^(B)

²² If I had not come and spoken to them,^(A) they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.^(B)

¹² As you enter the home, give it your greeting.^{(A) 13} If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you. ¹⁴ If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.^{(B) 15} Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah^(C) on the day of judgment^(D) than for that town.^(E)

⁴⁶ Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “We had to speak the word of God to you first.^(A) Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.^(B)

¹⁰ But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say, ¹¹ ‘Even the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to you.^(A) Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God has come near.’^{(B) 12} I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom^(C) than for that town.^(D)

⁷ You must speak^(A) my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious.^(B)

¹⁵ For we are to God the pleasing aroma^(A) of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.^{(B) 16} To the one we are an aroma that brings death;^(C) to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task?^{(D) 17} Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit.^(E) On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity,^(F) as those sent from God.^(G)
