²² “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will take a shoot^(A) from the very top of a cedar and plant it; I will break off a tender sprig from its topmost shoots and plant it on a high and lofty mountain.^(B)

¹² Tell him this is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Here is the man whose name is the Branch,^(A) and he will branch out from his place and build the temple of the Lord.^{(B) 13} It is he who will build the temple of the Lord, and he will be clothed with majesty and will sit and rule on his throne. And he^[a] will be a priest^(C) on his throne. And there will be harmony between the two.’

⁴⁰ For on my holy mountain, the high mountain of Israel,^(A) declares the Sovereign Lord, there in the land all the people of Israel will serve me, and there I will accept them. There I will require your offerings^(B) and your choice gifts,^[a] along with all your holy sacrifices.^(C)
