Jeremiah 3:8-11
English Standard Version
8 She saw that for all the adulteries of that faithless one, Israel, (A)I had sent her away with (B)a decree of divorce. (C)Yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but she too went (D)and played the whore. 9 Because she took her whoredom lightly, she polluted the land, committing adultery with (E)stone and tree. 10 Yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah did not return to me (F)with her whole heart, but in pretense, declares the Lord.”

No One Is Righteous
9 What then? Are we Jews[a] any better off?[b] No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both (A)Jews and (B)Greeks, are (C)under sin, 10 as it is written:
(D)“None is righteous, no, not one;
11 no one understands;
no one seeks for God.
12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
no one does good,
not even one.”
13 (E)“Their throat is (F)an open grave;
they use their tongues to deceive.”
(G)“The venom of asps is under their lips.”
14 (H)“Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.”
15 (I)“Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16 in their paths are ruin and misery,
17 and (J)the way of peace they have not known.”
18 (K)“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
19 Now we know that whatever (L)the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, (M)so that every mouth may be stopped, and (N)the whole world may be held accountable to God. 20 For (O)by works of the law no human being[c] will be justified in his sight, since (P)through the law comes knowledge of sin.

47 (A)And that servant who (B)knew his master's will but (C)did not get ready (D)or act according to his will, will receive a (E)severe beating. 48 (F)But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, (G)will receive a light beating. (H)Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.

English Standard Version
41 (A)The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and (B)condemn it, for (C)they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, (D)something greater than Jonah is here. 42 (E)The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, (F)something greater than Solomon is here.
