¹⁰ So now I will expose^(A) her lewdness
    before the eyes of her lovers;^(B)
    no one will take her out of my hands.^(C)

²² And if you ask yourself,
    “Why has this happened to me?”^(A)—
it is because of your many sins^(B)
    that your skirts have been torn off^(C)
    and your body mistreated.^(D)

⁵ “I am against^(A) you,” declares the Lord Almighty.
    “I will lift your skirts^(B) over your face.
I will show the nations your nakedness^(C)
    and the kingdoms your shame.
⁶ I will pelt you with filth,^(D)
    I will treat you with contempt^(E)
    and make you a spectacle.^(F)

¹⁰ Although they have sold themselves among the nations,
    I will now gather them together.^(A)
They will begin to waste away^(B)
    under the oppression of the mighty king.

⁸ Jerusalem has sinned^(A) greatly
    and so has become unclean.^(B)
All who honored her despise her,
    for they have all seen her naked;^(C)
she herself groans^(D)
    and turns away.
