    who gave her the grain, the new wine and oil,(B)
who lavished on her the silver and gold(C)
    which they used for Baal.(D)

“Therefore I will take away my grain(E) when it ripens,
    and my new wine(F) when it is ready.
I will take back my wool and my linen,
    intended to cover her naked body.
10 So now I will expose(G) her lewdness
    before the eyes of her lovers;(H)
    no one will take her out of my hands.(I)
11 I will stop(J) all her celebrations:(K)
    her yearly festivals, her New Moons,
    her Sabbath days—all her appointed festivals.(L)
12 I will ruin her vines(M) and her fig trees,(N)
    which she said were her pay from her lovers;(O)
I will make them a thicket,(P)
    and wild animals will devour them.(Q)
13 I will punish her for the days
    she burned incense(R) to the Baals;(S)
she decked herself with rings and jewelry,(T)
    and went after her lovers,(U)
    but me she forgot,(V)
declares the Lord.(W)

15 Jeshurun[a](D) grew fat(E) and kicked;
    filled with food, they became heavy and sleek.
They abandoned(F) the God who made them
    and rejected the Rock(G) their Savior.
16 They made him jealous(H) with their foreign gods
    and angered(I) him with their detestable idols.
17 They sacrificed(J) to false gods,(K) which are not God—
    gods they had not known,(L)
    gods that recently appeared,(M)
    gods your ancestors did not fear.
