⁸ I will set my face against them; I will make them a sign and a byword and cut them off from the midst of my people, and you shall know that I am the Lord.^(A)

⁷ I will set my face against them; although they escape from the fire, the fire shall still consume them, and you shall know that I am the Lord when I set my face against them.^(A)

¹⁵ You shall be^[a] a mockery and a taunt, a warning and a horror, to the nations around you when I execute judgments on you in anger and fury and with furious punishments—I, the Lord, have spoken^(A)—

¹¹ Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: I am determined to bring disaster on you, to bring all Judah to an end.^(A)

⁷ The slain shall fall in your midst; then you shall know that I am the Lord.^(A)

³⁷ You shall become an object of horror, a proverb, and a byword among all the peoples where the Lord will lead you.^(A)

Eating Blood Prohibited

¹⁰ “If anyone of the house of Israel or of the aliens who reside among them eats any blood, I will set my face against that person who eats blood and will cut that person off from the people.^(A)

¹¹ These things happened to them to serve as an example, and they were written down to instruct us, on whom the ends of the ages have come.^(A)

²² Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen but God’s kindness toward you, if you continue in his kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off.^(A)
