^15 (A)“If I cause wild beasts to pass through the land, and they ravage it, ^(B)and it be made desolate, so that no one may pass through because of the beasts,

¹⁷ I will send famine and ^(A)wild beasts against you, ^(B)and they will rob you of your children. Pestilence and ^(C)blood shall pass through you, and I will bring the sword upon you. I am the Lord; I have spoken.”

²² And ^(A)I will let loose the wild beasts against you, which shall bereave you of your children and destroy your livestock and make you few in number, so that ^(B)your roads shall be deserted.

^3 (A)I will appoint over them four kinds of destroyers, declares the Lord: the sword to kill, the dogs to tear, and ^(B)the birds of the air ^(C)and the beasts of the earth to devour and destroy.

²⁵ And at the beginning of their dwelling there, they did not fear the Lord. Therefore the Lord sent lions among them, which killed some of them.

³⁶ Then he said to him, “Because you have not obeyed the voice of the Lord, behold, as soon as you have gone from me, a lion shall strike you down.” And as soon as he had departed from him, ^(A)a lion met him and struck him down.
