⁵ Then the spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and he said to me, “Say, Thus says the Lord: This is what you think, O house of Israel; I know the things that come into your mind.^(A)

² And when he spoke to me, a spirit entered into me and set me on my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.^(A)

²³ and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts, and I will give to each of you as your works deserve.^(A)

¹³ And before him no creature is hidden, but all are naked and laid bare to the eyes of the one to whom we must render an account.^(A)

¹³ You have spoken harsh words against me, says the Lord. Yet you say, “How have we spoken against you?”^{(A) 14} You have said, “It is vain to serve God. What do we profit by keeping his command or by going about as mourners before the Lord of hosts?^(B)

8 In the sixth year, in the sixth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house with the elders of Judah sitting before me, the hand of the Lord God fell upon me there.^(A)
