30 “Woe to the rebellious children,” says the Lord,
^(A)“Who take counsel, but not of Me,
And who ^[a]devise plans, but not of My Spirit,
^(B)That they may add sin to sin;

⁵ I will go to the great men and speak to them,
For ^(A)they have known the way of the Lord,
The judgment of their God.”

² Your tongue devises destruction,
Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

2 Why ^(B)do the ^[a]nations ^[b]rage,
And the people plot a ^[c]vain thing?
² The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the ^(C)rulers take counsel together,
Against the Lord and against His ^(D)Anointed,^[d] saying,

2 Woe to those who devise iniquity,
And ^[a]work out evil on their beds!
At ^(A)morning light they practice it,
Because it is in the power of their hand.
² They ^(B)covet fields and take them by violence,
Also houses, and seize them.
So they oppress a man and his house,
A man and his inheritance.

^4 (A)He devises wickedness on his bed;
He sets himself ^(B)in a way that is not good;
He does not ^[a]abhor ^(C)evil.
