⁹ “‘Then those who live in the towns of Israel will go out and use the weapons for fuel and burn them up—the small and large shields, the bows and arrows,^(A) the war clubs and spears. For seven years they will use them for fuel.^(B)

²⁴ “And they will go out and look on the dead bodies^(A) of those who rebelled^(B) against me; the worms^(C) that eat them will not die, the fire that burns them will not be quenched,^(D) and they will be loathsome to all mankind.”

⁵ You will see it with your own eyes and say, ‘Great^(A) is the Lord—even beyond the borders of Israel!’^(B)

⁶ The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, because by this time tomorrow I will hand^(A) all of them, slain, over to Israel. You are to hamstring^(B) their horses and burn their chariots.”^(C)
