She[a] saw that for all the adulteries of that faithless one, Israel, I had sent her away with a decree of divorce, yet her false sister Judah did not fear, but she also went and prostituted herself.(A) Because she took her prostitution so lightly, she polluted the land, committing adultery with stone and tree.(B) 10 Yet for all this her false sister Judah did not return to me with her whole heart but only in pretense, says the Lord.(C)

11 Then the Lord said to me: Faithless Israel has shown herself less guilty than false Judah.(D)

I gave faithless Israel(A) her certificate of divorce(B) and sent her away because of all her adulteries. Yet I saw that her unfaithful sister Judah had no fear;(C) she also went out and committed adultery. Because Israel’s immorality mattered so little to her, she defiled the land(D) and committed adultery(E) with stone(F) and wood.(G) 10 In spite of all this, her unfaithful sister Judah did not return(H) to me with all her heart, but only in pretense,(I)” declares the Lord.(J)

Therefore I did away with them as you have seen.(J) 51 Samaria did not commit half the sins you did. You have done more detestable things than they, and have made your sisters seem righteous by all these things you have done.(K)
