¹⁵ When He had ^[a](A)disarmed the ^(B)rulers and authorities, He ^(C)made a public display of them, having ^(D)triumphed over them through ^[b]Him.

The Joyful Results

¹⁷ Now the ^[a]seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even ^(A)the demons are subject to us ^[b]in Your name!” ¹⁸ And He said to them, “I watched ^(B)Satan fall from heaven like lightning. ¹⁹ Behold, I have given you authority to ^(C)walk on snakes and scorpions, and authority over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you.

¹⁰ Then I heard ^(A)a loud voice in heaven, saying,

“Now the ^(B)salvation, and the power, and the ^(C)kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the ^(D)accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down, the one who accuses them before our God day and night. ¹¹ And they ^(E)overcame him because of ^(F)the blood of the Lamb and because of ^(G)the word of their testimony, and they ^(H)did not love their life even ^[a]when faced with death. ¹² For this reason, ^(I)rejoice, you heavens and ^(J)you who dwell in them. ^(K)Woe to the earth and the sea, because ^(L)the devil has come down to you with great wrath, knowing that he has only ^(M)a short time.”
