The Plague on Livestock
9 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: “Let my people go, so that they may worship(A) me.” 2 If you refuse to let them go and continue to hold them back, 3 the hand(B) of the Lord will bring a terrible plague(C) on your livestock in the field—on your horses, donkeys and camels and on your cattle, sheep and goats. 4 But the Lord will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and that of Egypt,(D) so that no animal belonging to the Israelites will die.’”
5 The Lord set a time and said, “Tomorrow the Lord will do this in the land.” 6 And the next day the Lord did it: All the livestock(E) of the Egyptians died,(F) but not one animal belonging to the Israelites died. 7 Pharaoh investigated and found that not even one of the animals of the Israelites had died. Yet his heart(G) was unyielding and he would not let the people go.(H)
The Plague of Boils
8 Then the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Take handfuls of soot from a furnace and have Moses toss it into the air in the presence of Pharaoh. 9 It will become fine dust over the whole land of Egypt, and festering boils(I) will break out on people and animals throughout the land.”
10 So they took soot from a furnace and stood before Pharaoh. Moses tossed it into the air, and festering boils broke out on people and animals. 11 The magicians(J) could not stand before Moses because of the boils that were on them and on all the Egyptians. 12 But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart(K) and he would not listen(L) to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said to Moses.
The Plague of Hail
13 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Get up early in the morning, confront Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: Let my people go, so that they may worship(M) me, 14 or this time I will send the full force of my plagues against you and against your officials and your people, so you may know(N) that there is no one like(O) me in all the earth. 15 For by now I could have stretched out my hand and struck you and your people(P) with a plague that would have wiped you off the earth. 16 But I have raised you up[a] for this very purpose,(Q) that I might show you my power(R) and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth. 17 You still set yourself against my people and will not let them go. 18 Therefore, at this time tomorrow I will send the worst hailstorm(S) that has ever fallen on Egypt, from the day it was founded till now.(T) 19 Give an order now to bring your livestock and everything you have in the field to a place of shelter, because the hail will fall on every person and animal that has not been brought in and is still out in the field, and they will die.’”
20 Those officials of Pharaoh who feared(U) the word of the Lord hurried to bring their slaves and their livestock inside. 21 But those who ignored(V) the word of the Lord left their slaves and livestock in the field.
22 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky so that hail will fall all over Egypt—on people and animals and on everything growing in the fields of Egypt.” 23 When Moses stretched out his staff toward the sky, the Lord sent thunder(W) and hail,(X) and lightning flashed down to the ground. So the Lord rained hail on the land of Egypt; 24 hail fell and lightning flashed back and forth. It was the worst storm in all the land of Egypt since it had become a nation.(Y) 25 Throughout Egypt hail struck everything in the fields—both people and animals; it beat down everything growing in the fields and stripped every tree.(Z) 26 The only place it did not hail was the land of Goshen,(AA) where the Israelites were.(AB)
27 Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron. “This time I have sinned,”(AC) he said to them. “The Lord is in the right,(AD) and I and my people are in the wrong. 28 Pray(AE) to the Lord, for we have had enough thunder and hail. I will let you go;(AF) you don’t have to stay any longer.”
29 Moses replied, “When I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands(AG) in prayer to the Lord. The thunder will stop and there will be no more hail, so you may know that the earth(AH) is the Lord’s. 30 But I know that you and your officials still do not fear(AI) the Lord God.”
31 (The flax and barley(AJ) were destroyed, since the barley had headed and the flax was in bloom. 32 The wheat and spelt,(AK) however, were not destroyed, because they ripen later.)
33 Then Moses left Pharaoh and went out of the city. He spread out his hands toward the Lord; the thunder and hail stopped, and the rain no longer poured down on the land. 34 When Pharaoh saw that the rain and hail and thunder had stopped, he sinned again: He and his officials hardened their hearts. 35 So Pharaoh’s heart(AL) was hard and he would not let the Israelites go, just as the Lord had said through Moses.

9 耶和華對摩西說：“你要到法老那裡去，對他說：‘耶和華希伯來人的 神這樣說：“讓我的人民離開這裡，使他們可以事奉我。” 2 如果你拒絕他們離開這裡，仍然強留他們， 3 看哪，耶和華的手必用嚴重的瘟疫加在你田間的牲畜身上，加在馬、驢、駱駝、牛群、羊群身上。 4 耶和華必把以色列的牲畜和埃及人的牲畜分別出來；所有屬於以色列人的，一隻也不死去。’” 5 耶和華就定了時候，說：“明天耶和華必在此地行這事。” 6 第二天，耶和華就行了這事，埃及人全部的牲畜都死了；可是屬於以色列人的牲畜，一隻也沒有死去。 7 法老派人去看，果然看見屬於以色列人的牲畜，連一隻也沒有死去。法老的心還是剛硬，不肯讓以色列人離開。
瘡災
8 耶和華對摩西和亞倫說：“你們要兩手拿滿爐灰，摩西要在法老眼前把爐灰向天上揚起來。 9 這爐灰必在埃及全地變為微塵，在埃及全地的人和牲畜身上就必生出疹病和膿瘡。” 10 摩西和亞倫取了爐灰，站在法老面前；摩西把爐灰向天上揚起來，人和牲畜身上就生出了疹病和膿瘡。 11 眾術士因為生了瘡的緣故，不能站在摩西的面前；因為眾術士和所有埃及人身上都生了瘡。 12 耶和華使法老心裡剛硬，他就不肯聽摩西和亞倫的話，就像耶和華對摩西所說的。
13 耶和華對摩西說：“你要清早起來，站在法老面前，對他說：‘耶和華希伯來人的 神這樣說：“讓我的人民離開這裡，使他們可以事奉我。 14 因為這一次我要降下我的一切災禍，打擊你和你的臣僕及人民，為要使你知道在全地上沒有神像我的。 15 如果我現在伸手用瘟疫擊打你和你的人民，你就早已從地上消滅了。 16 然而我使你存留，是為了使你看見我的能力，並且在全地上傳講我的名。 17 你仍然向我的人民自高，不讓他們離開嗎？ 18 看哪，明天大約這個時候，我必降下極重的冰雹，在埃及自建國以來，直到現在，未曾有過這樣的冰雹的。 19 所以，你現在要派人去，把你的牲畜和田間所有屬於你的，都收聚到安全的地方；因為凡在田間發現的人和牲畜而不收回家裡去的，冰雹必落在他們身上，他們就必死亡。”’” 20 法老的臣僕中有懼怕耶和華這話的，就叫他的僕人和牲畜進屋裡來。 21 但那不把耶和華這話放在心上的，卻把他的僕人和牲畜留在田裡。
雹災
22 耶和華對摩西說：“你要向天伸杖，使埃及全地都有冰雹，落在人身上、在牲畜身上和埃及地田間所有的蔬菜上。” 23 摩西把手杖向天一伸，耶和華就打雷（“打雷”原文作“ 神的聲音”）下雹，有火落在地上；耶和華使冰雹降在埃及地上。 24 那時有了冰雹，冰雹與火混雜在一起，十分嚴重；埃及全地自從建國以來，未曾有過這樣的冰雹。 25 在埃及全地，冰雹把田間的一切，連人和牲畜都擊打了；冰雹又把田間的一切蔬菜擊打了，也把田間的一切樹木打斷了。 26 只有在以色列人所在的歌珊地，沒有冰雹。
27 於是，法老把摩西和亞倫召了來，對他們說：“這一次我犯了罪了；耶和華是公義的，我和我的人民是有罪的。 28 請你們祈求耶和華吧，因為這雷聲和冰雹已經夠了；我決意讓你們離開，你們不可再留在這裡。” 29 摩西回答法老：“我一出城，就必向耶和華伸手禱告，雷聲就必止住，也不再有冰雹了，好使你知道大地是屬於耶和華的。 30 至於你和你的臣僕，我知道你們在耶和華 神的面前還是沒有懼怕的心。” 31 那時，麻和大麥被冰雹擊打了，因為大麥已經吐穗，麻也開了花。 32 只是小麥和粗麥卻沒有被擊打，因為它們還沒有長成。 33 摩西離開法老出城去了，就向耶和華伸手禱告，雷聲和冰雹就止住了，雨也不再傾倒在地上了。 34 法老看見雨水、冰雹和雷聲都止住了，就更加犯罪，他和他的臣僕都心裡剛硬。 35 法老的心剛硬，不肯讓以色列人離開，就像耶和華藉著摩西所說的。

9 Then the Lord said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the Lord God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
2 For if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them still,
3 Behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very grievous murrain.
4 And the Lord shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all that is the children's of Israel.
5 And the Lord appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the Lord shall do this thing in the land.
6 And the Lord did that thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died: but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one.
7 And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go.
8 And the Lord said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh.
9 And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the land of Egypt.
10 And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast.
11 And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians.
12 And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the Lord had spoken unto Moses.
13 And the Lord said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
14 For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth.
15 For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth.
16 And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.
17 As yet exaltest thou thyself against my people, that thou wilt not let them go?
18 Behold, to morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even until now.
19 Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field; for upon every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die.
20 He that feared the word of the Lord among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses:
21 And he that regarded not the word of the Lord left his servants and his cattle in the field.
22 And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.
23 And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt.
24 So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.
25 And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field.
26 Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.
27 And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the Lord is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.
28 Intreat the Lord (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer.
29 And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto the Lord; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know how that the earth is the Lord's.
30 But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear the Lord God.
31 And the flax and the barley was smitten: for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was bolled.
32 But the wheat and the rie were not smitten: for they were not grown up.
33 And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands unto the Lord: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth.
34 And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants.
35 And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, neither would he let the children of Israel go; as the Lord had spoken by Moses.

Den femte plågan - boskapspesten
9 Herren sade till Mose: "Gå till farao och säg till honom: Så säger Herren, hebreernas Gud: Släpp mitt folk, så att de kan hålla gudstjänst åt mig! 2 Ty om du vägrar släppa dem och fortfarande håller dem kvar, 3 se, då skall Herrens hand komma med en mycket svår pest över din boskap på marken, över hästar, åsnor och kameler, nötboskap och får. 4 Men Herren skall göra skillnad mellan israeliternas boskap och egyptiernas, så att inget djur som tillhör Israels barn skall dö." 5 Herren bestämde en tid och sade: "I morgon skall Herren göra detta i landet." 6 Nästa dag gjorde Herren så, och all egyptiernas boskap dog. Men av israeliternas boskap dog inte ett enda djur. 7 När farao sände bud för att höra efter, se, då hade inte ett enda djur dött av Israels boskap. Men faraos hjärta förblev tillslutet och han släppte inte folket.

8 Herren sade till Mose och Aron: "Fyll era händer med sot ur smältugnen, och Mose skall kasta upp det mot himlen inför faraos ögon. 9 Av sotet skall det bli ett damm över hela Egyptens land och genom det skall bölder uppstå som slår ut med blåsor på människor och boskap i hela Egypten." 10 Då tog de sot ur smältugnen och trädde fram inför farao, och Mose kastade upp sotet mot himlen. Genom sotet uppstod bölder som slog ut med blåsor på människor och boskap. 11 Och spåmännen kunde inte träda fram inför Mose för böldernas skull, ty det var bölder på dem och på alla egyptier. 12 Men Herren gjorde faraos hjärta hårt så att han inte lyssnade på dem, alldeles så som Herren hade sagt till Mose.
Den sjunde plågan - haglet
13 Därefter sade Herren till Mose: "Stig upp tidigt på morgonen, träd fram inför farao och säg till honom: Så säger Herren, hebreernas Gud: Släpp mitt folk, så att de kan hålla gudstjänst åt mig. 14 Annars skall jag denna gång sända alla mina plågor över dig själv, dina tjänare och ditt folk, för att du skall förstå att ingen är som jag på hela jorden. 15 Ty nu var jag nära att räcka ut min hand och slå dig och ditt folk med pest för att utrota dig från jorden. 16 Men just därför skonade jag dig, att jag skulle visa dig min kraft och för att mitt namn skulle förkunnas på hela jorden. 17 Om du fortsätter att lägga hinder i vägen för mitt folk och inte släpper dem, 18 se, då skall jag i morgon vid denna tid låta ett mycket tungt hagel komma, sådant att något liknande inte har förekommit i Egypten från den dag det grundades ända tills nu. 19 Sänd därför ut folk och för din boskap i säkerhet och allt annat som du har ute på marken. Ty alla människor och all boskap, som finns ute på marken och inte har kommit under tak, skall träffas av haglet och dödas." 20 Den av faraos tjänare som fruktade Herrens ord lät sina slavar och sin boskap söka skydd i husen, 21 men den som inte brydde sig om Herrens ord lät sina slavar och sin boskap bli kvar ute på marken.
22 Herren sade till Mose: "Lyft upp din hand mot himlen, så skall det falla hagel över hela Egypten, över människor och boskap och all växtlighet på marken i Egyptens land." 23 Då räckte Mose upp sin stav mot himlen, och Herren lät det dundra och hagla, och eld for ner mot jorden. Så lät Herren hagel komma över Egyptens land. 24 Och det haglade och eld for fram och tillbaka bland hagelskurarna. Haglet var så tungt att något liknande inte hade förekommit i hela Egyptens land från den tid då det blev befolkat. 25 I hela Egypten slog haglet ner allt som fanns på marken, både människor och djur. Det slog också ner all växtlighet på marken och bröt sönder alla träd på marken. 26 Endast i landet Gosen, där Israels barn bodde, haglade det inte.
27 Då sände farao bud efter Mose och Aron och sade till dem: "Den här gången har jag syndat. Det är Herren som är rättfärdig och jag och mitt folk har gjort orätt. 28 Be till Herren, för hans dunder och hagel har varat länge nog. Så skall jag släppa er och ni skall inte behöva bli kvar längre." 29 Mose svarade honom: "När jag kommer ut ur staden skall jag sträcka mina händer mot Herren. Då skall dundret upphöra och inget hagel komma mer, för att du skall inse att landet tillhör Herren. 30 Men jag vet att du och dina tjänare ännu inte fruktar Herren Gud." 31 - Det var lin och korn som slogs ner, för kornet hade gått i ax och linet stod i knopp. 32 Men vetet och spälten[a] slogs inte ner, eftersom de mognar senare. -
33 Sedan lämnade Mose farao och gick ut ur staden, och han räckte ut sina händer mot Herren. Då upphörde dundret och haglet och regnet strömmade inte längre ner på jorden. 34 Men när farao såg att regnet och haglet och dundret hade upphört, framhärdade han i sin synd och stängde till sitt hjärta, både han och hans tjänare. 35 Faraos hjärta förblev hårt och han släppte inte Israels barn, alldeles som Herren hade sagt genom Mose.
