9 “When Pharaoh tells you, ‘Perform a miracle,’ tell Aaron, ‘Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh. It will become a serpent.’”(A) 10 So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord had commanded. Aaron threw down his staff before Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a serpent. 11 But then Pharaoh called the wise men and sorcerers—the magicians(B) of Egypt, and they also did the same thing by their occult practices.(C)

9 “When Pharaoh speaks to you, saying, (A)‘Show a miracle for yourselves,’ then you shall say to Aaron, (B)‘Take your rod and cast it before Pharaoh, and let it become a serpent.’ ” 10 So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and they did so, just (C)as the Lord commanded. And Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it (D)became a serpent.
11 But Pharaoh also (E)called the wise men and (F)the [a]sorcerers; so the magicians of Egypt, they also (G)did in like manner with their [b]enchantments.

Aaron cast down his staff before Pharaoh and his servants, and it became a serpent. 11 Then Pharaoh summoned the wise men and the sorcerers, and they, the (B)magicians of Egypt, also (C)did the same by their secret arts.
