Exodus 40 - Leviticus 1
Revised Geneva Translation
40 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
2 “On the first day of the first month, you shall set up the Tabernacle (the Tabernacle of the Congregation).
3 “And you shall put the Ark of the Testimony inside and cover the Ark with the veil.
4 “Also, you shall bring in the Table and set it in order as required. You shall also bring in the Lampstand and light its Lamps.
5 “And you shall set the Incense Altar of gold before the Ark of the Testimony and put up the hanging at the door of the Tabernacle.
6 “Moreover, you shall set the burnt offering Altar before the door of the Tabernacle (the Tabernacle of the Congregation).
7 “And you shall set the Basin between the Tabernacle of the Congregation and the Altar and put water in it.
8 “Then you shall set up the court all around and hang up the hanging at the court gate.
9 “Afterward, you shall take the anointing oil and anoint the Tabernacle, and all that is therein, and hallow it with all its instruments, so that it may be holy.
10 “And you shall anoint the Altar of the Burnt Offering, and all its instruments, and shall sanctify the Altar, so that it may be an Altar Most Holy.
11 “Also, you shall anoint the Basin, and its Pedestal, and shall sanctify it.
12 “Then, you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation and wash them with water.
13 “And you shall put the holy garments upon Aaron, and shalt anoint him, and sanctify him, so that he may minister to Me in the Priest’s office.
14 “You shall also bring his sons and clothe them with garments.
15 “And you shall anoint them, as you anointed their father, so that they may minister to me in the Priest’s office. For their anointing shall be a sign: that the Priesthood shall be everlasting to them, throughout their generations.”16 So Moses did according to all that the LORD had commanded him. So did he.
17 Thus was the Tabernacle raised up, on the first day of the first month, in the second year.
18 Then Moses raised up the Tabernacle, and fastened its sockets, and set up its boards, and put in its poles, and raised up its pillars.
19 And he spread the covering over the Tabernacle and put the covering of the tent on top of it, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
20 And he took and put the Testimony in the Ark, and put the poles in the rings of the Ark, and set the Mercy Seat on top of the Ark.
21 He also brought the Ark into the Tabernacle, and hung up the covering veil, and covered the Ark of the Testimony, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
22 Furthermore, he put the Table in the Tabernacle of the Congregation on the north side of the Tabernacle, without the veil.
23 And he set the bread in order before the LORD, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
24 Also, he put the Lampstand in the Tabernacle of the Congregation, across from the Table, toward the south side of the Tabernacle.
25 And he lit the Lamps before the LORD, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
26 Moreover, he set the golden Altar in the Tabernacle of the Congregation, before the veil.
27 And he burnt sweet incense on it, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
28 Also, he hung up the veil at the door of the Tabernacle.
29 Afterward, he set the burnt offering Altar outside the door of the Tabernacle (the Tabernacle of the Congregation) and offered the burnt offering and the sacrifice on it, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
30 Likewise, he set the Basin between the Tabernacle of the Congregation and the Altar, and poured water in it, with which to wash.
31 So, Moses and Aaron, and his sons, washed their hands and their feet there.
32 When they went into the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and when they approached to the Altar, they washed, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
33 Finally, he raised up the court all around the Tabernacle and the Altar and hung up the veil at the court gate. So Moses finished the work.
34 Then, the cloud covered the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and the Glory of the LORD filled the Tabernacle.
35 So, Moses could not enter into the Tabernacle of the Congregation because the cloud rested on it, and the Glory of the LORD filled the Tabernacle.
36 Now, when the cloud ascended up from the Tabernacle, the children of Israel went forward in all their journeys.
37 But, if the cloud did not ascend, then they did not go out until the day that it ascended.
38 For the cloud of the LORD was upon the Tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the House of Israel, throughout all their journeys.
1 Now the LORD called Moses, and spoke to him out of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, saying,
2 “Speak to the children of Israel, and you shall say to them, ‘If any of you offers a sacrifice to the LORD, you shall offer your sacrifice from livestock, from the herd and from the sheep.
3 ‘If his sacrifice is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer a male, without blemish (presenting him, of his own voluntary will, at the door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, before the LORD).
4 ‘And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him, to be his atonement.
5 ‘And he shall kill the bullock before the LORD. And the Priests, Aaron’s sons, shall offer the blood and shall sprinkle it all around, upon the altar that is by the door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation.
6 ‘Then, he shall slay the Burnt Offering and cut it in pieces.
7 ‘So, the sons of Aaron the Priest shall put fire upon the altar and lay the wood in order, upon the fire.
8 ‘Then, the Priests, Aaron’s sons, shall lay the parts in order (the head and the fat) upon the wood that is in the fire which is upon the Altar.
9 ‘But, he shall wash its entrails and its legs in water. And the Priest shall burn all on the Altar. It is a Burnt Offering, an oblation made by fire, for a sweet savor to the LORD.
10 ‘And if his sacrifice for the Burnt Offering is from the flocks (from the sheep, or from the goats) he shall offer a male without blemish.
11 ‘And he shall kill it on the north side of the Altar, before the LORD. And the Priests, Aaron’s sons, shall sprinkle its blood all around upon the Altar.
12 ‘And he shall cut it in pieces, its head and its fat. And the Priest shall lay them in order, upon the wood, in the fire which is on the Altar:
13 ‘But, he shall wash the entrails and the legs with water. And the Priest shall offer the whole and burn it upon the Altar. It is a Burnt Offering, an oblation made by fire, for a sweet savor to the LORD.
14 And if his sacrifice is a Burnt Offering to the LORD from the birds, then shall he offer his sacrifice from the turtledoves, or from the young pigeons.
15 ‘And the Priest shall bring it to the Altar, and wring the neck of it asunder, and burn it on the Altar. And its blood shall be shed upon the side of the Altar.
16 ‘And he shall pluck out its crop with its feathers, and cast them beside the Altar, on the east part, in the place of the ashes.
17 ‘And he shall split it at its wings, but not divide it completely. And the Priest shall burn it upon the Altar upon the wood that is in the fire. It is a Burnt Offering, an oblation made by fire, for a sweet savor to the LORD.
