Exodus 4:10-12

New International Version

¹⁰Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”^(A)

¹¹The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute?^(B) Who gives them sight or makes them blind?^(C) Is it not I, the Lord? ¹²Now go;^(D) I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”^(E)

²¹My son,^(A) do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight,^(B)
    preserve sound judgment and discretion;
²²they will be life for you,^(C)
    an ornament to grace your neck.^(D)
²³Then you will go on your way in safety,^(E)
    and your foot will not stumble.^(F)
²⁴When you lie down,^(G) you will not be afraid;^(H)
    when you lie down, your sleep^(I) will be sweet.
²⁵Have no fear of sudden disaster
    or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,
²⁶for the Lord will be at your side^(J)
