²¹ They bound the breastplate by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a blue cord, so that it might be above the waistband of the ephod, and that the breastplate might not come loose from the ephod, just as the Lord commanded Moses.

²² Then he made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue. ²³ There was an opening in the middle of the robe, like the opening of a coat of mail, with a band all around the opening so that it should not be torn.
