The Things Numbered for the Tabernacle

21 These are the things numbered for the [a]tabernacle, the [b]tabernacle of the testimony, as they were [c]numbered according to the [d]command of Moses, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest. 22 Now (A)Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that Yahweh had commanded Moses. 23 With him was (B)Oholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, a craftsman and a skillful designer and a [e]weaver in [f]blue and in purple and in scarlet material and fine linen.

24 All the gold that was used for the work, in all the work of the sanctuary, even the gold of the wave offering, was [g]29 talents and [h]730 shekels, according to (C)the shekel of the sanctuary. 25 (D)The silver of those of the congregation who were [i]numbered was [j]100 talents and [k]1,775 shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary; 26 (E)a beka a head (that is, half a shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary), for each one who passed over to those who were [l]numbered, from twenty years old and upward, for (F)603,550 men. 27 One hundred talents of silver were for casting the bases of the sanctuary and the bases of the veil; one hundred bases for one hundred talents, a talent for a base. 28 Of the 1,775 shekels, he made hooks for the pillars and overlaid their tops and made bands for them. 29 The bronze of the wave offering was 70 talents and 2,400 shekels. 30 With it he made the bases to the doorway of the tent of meeting, and the bronze altar and its bronze grating, and all the utensils of the altar, 31 and the bases of the court all around and the bases of the gate of the court, and all the pegs of the [m]tabernacle and all the pegs of the court all around.

Inventory of Materials

21 This is an inventory of the materials used in building the Tabernacle of the Covenant.[a] The Levites compiled the figures, as Moses directed, and Ithamar son of Aaron the priest served as recorder. 22 Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made everything just as the Lord had commanded Moses. 23 He was assisted by Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, a craftsman expert at engraving, designing, and embroidering with blue, purple, and scarlet thread on fine linen cloth.

24 The people brought special offerings of gold totaling 2,193 pounds,[b] as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel. This gold was used throughout the Tabernacle.

25 The whole community of Israel gave 7,545 pounds[c] of silver, as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel. 26 This silver came from the tax collected from each man registered in the census. (The tax is one beka, which is half a shekel,[d] based on the sanctuary shekel.) The tax was collected from 603,550 men who had reached their twentieth birthday. 27 The hundred bases for the frames of the sanctuary walls and for the posts supporting the inner curtain required 7,500 pounds of silver, about 75 pounds for each base.[e] 28 The remaining 45 pounds[f] of silver was used to make the hooks and rings and to overlay the tops of the posts.

29 The people also brought as special offerings 5,310 pounds[g] of bronze, 30 which was used for casting the bases for the posts at the entrance to the Tabernacle, and for the bronze altar with its bronze grating and all the altar utensils. 31 Bronze was also used to make the bases for the posts that supported the curtains around the courtyard, the bases for the curtain at the entrance of the courtyard, and all the tent pegs for the Tabernacle and the courtyard.
