Exodus 36

36 1 Bezalel, Oholiab, and all the skilled[a] people are to work based on everything the Lord has commanded. The Lord has given them wisdom and understanding to know how to do all the work of constructing the sanctuary.’(A)

2 So Moses summoned Bezalel, Oholiab, and every skilled person in whose heart the Lord had placed wisdom, all whose hearts moved them,(B) to come to the work and do it. 3 They took from Moses’s presence all the contributions that the Israelites had brought for the task of making the sanctuary. Meanwhile, the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning.

4 Then all the craftsmen who were doing all the work for the sanctuary came one by one from the work they were doing 5 and said to Moses, ‘The people are bringing more than is needed(C) for the construction of the work the Lord commanded to be done.’

6 After Moses gave an order, they sent a proclamation throughout the camp: ‘Let no man or woman make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.’ So the people stopped. 7 The materials were sufficient for them to do all the work. There was more than enough.

Building the Tabernacle

8 All(D) the skilled craftsmen[b] among those doing the work made the tabernacle with ten curtains. Bezalel made them of finely spun linen, as well as blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, with a design of cherubim worked into them. 9 Each curtain was 12.5 metres[c] long and 1.8 metres[d] wide; all the curtains had the same measurements. 10 He joined five of the curtains to each other, and the other five curtains he joined to each other. 11 He made loops of blue yarn on the edge of the last curtain in the first set and did the same on the edge of the outermost curtain in the second set. 12 He made fifty loops on the one curtain and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain in the second set, so that the loops lined up with each other. 13 He also made fifty gold clasps and joined the curtains to each other, so that the tabernacle became a single unit.

14 He made curtains of goat hair for a tent over the tabernacle; he made eleven of them. 15 Each curtain was 13.5 metres[e] long and 1.8 metres wide. All eleven curtains had the same measurements. 16 He joined five of the curtains together, and the other six together. 17 He made fifty loops on the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set and fifty loops on the edge of the corresponding curtain in the second set. 18 He made fifty bronze clasps to join the tent together as a single unit. 19 He also made a covering for the tent from ram skins dyed red and a covering of fine leather[f] on top of it.

20 He(E) made upright supports[g] of acacia wood for the tabernacle. 21 Each support was four and a half metres[h] long and seventy centimetres[i] wide. 22 Each support had two tenons for joining one to another. He did the same for all the supports of the tabernacle. 23 He made supports for the tabernacle as follows: He made twenty for the south side, 24 and he made forty silver bases to put under the twenty supports, two bases under the first support for its two tenons, and two bases under each of the following supports for their two tenons. 25 For the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, he made twenty supports, 26 with their forty silver bases, two bases under the first support and two bases under each of the following ones. 27 And for the back of the tabernacle, on the west side, he made six supports. 28 He also made two additional supports for the two back corners of the tabernacle. 29 They were paired at the bottom and joined together[j] at the[k] top in a single ring. This is what he did with both of them for the two corners. 30 So there were eight supports with their sixteen silver bases, two bases under each one.

31 He made five crossbars of acacia wood for the supports on one side of the tabernacle, 32 five crossbars for the supports on the other side of the tabernacle, and five crossbars for those at the back of the tabernacle on the west. 33 He made the central crossbar run through the middle of the supports from one end to the other. 34 He overlaid them with gold and made their rings out of gold as holders for the crossbars. He also overlaid the crossbars with gold.

35 Then(F) he made the curtain with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen. He made it with a design of cherubim worked into it. 36 He made four pillars of acacia wood for it and overlaid them with gold; their hooks were of gold. And he cast four silver bases for the pillars.

37 He made a screen embroidered[l] with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen for the entrance to the tent, 38 together with its five pillars and their hooks. He overlaid the tops of the pillars and their bands with gold, but their five bases were bronze.

36 “Bezalel and Oholiab and (A)every craftsman in whom the Lord has put skill and intelligence to know how to do any work in the construction of the sanctuary shall work in accordance with all that the Lord has commanded.”

2 And Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab and every craftsman in whose mind the Lord had put skill, everyone (B)whose heart stirred him up to come to do the work. 3 And they received from Moses all the (C)contribution that the people of Israel had brought for doing the work on the sanctuary. They still kept bringing him (D)freewill offerings every morning, 4 so that all the craftsmen who were doing every sort of task on the sanctuary came, each from the task that he was doing, 5 and said to Moses, (E)“The people bring much more than enough for doing the work that the Lord has commanded us to do.” 6 So Moses gave command, and word was proclaimed throughout the camp, “Let no man or woman do anything more for the (F)contribution for the sanctuary.” So the people were restrained from bringing, 7 for the material they had was sufficient to do all the work, and more.

8 (G)And all the craftsmen among the workmen made the tabernacle with ten curtains. They were made of fine twined linen and blue and purple and scarlet yarns, with cherubim skillfully worked. 9 The length of each curtain was twenty-eight cubits,[a] and the breadth of each curtain four cubits. All the curtains were the same size.

10 He[b] coupled five curtains to one another, and the other five curtains he coupled to one another. 11 He made loops of blue on the edge of the outermost curtain of the first set. Likewise he made them on the edge of the outermost curtain of the second set. 12 He made fifty loops on the one curtain, and he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that was in the second set. The loops were opposite one another. 13 And he made fifty clasps of gold, and coupled the curtains one to the other with clasps. So the tabernacle was a single whole.

14 He also made curtains of goats' hair for a tent over the tabernacle. He made eleven curtains. 15 The length of each curtain was thirty cubits, and the breadth of each curtain four cubits. The eleven curtains were the same size. 16 He coupled five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves. 17 And he made fifty loops on the edge of the outermost curtain of the one set, and fifty loops on the edge of the other connecting curtain. 18 And he made fifty clasps of bronze to couple the tent together that it might be a single whole. 19 And he made for the tent a covering of tanned rams' skins and goatskins.

20 (H)Then he made the upright frames for the tabernacle of (I)acacia wood. 21 Ten cubits was the length of a frame, and a cubit and a half the breadth of each frame. 22 Each frame had two tenons for fitting together. He did this for all the frames of the tabernacle. 23 The frames for the tabernacle he made thus: twenty frames for the south side. 24 And he made forty bases of silver under the twenty frames, two bases under one frame for its two tenons, and two bases under the next frame for its two tenons. 25 For the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side, he made twenty frames 26 and their forty bases of silver, two bases under one frame and two bases under the next frame. 27 For the rear of the tabernacle westward he made six frames. 28 He made two frames for corners of the tabernacle in the rear. 29 And they were separate beneath but joined at the top, at the first ring. He made two of them this way for the two corners. 30 There were eight frames with their bases of silver: sixteen bases, under every frame two bases.

31 He made bars of acacia wood, five for the frames of the one side of the tabernacle, 32 and five bars for the frames of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the frames of the tabernacle at the rear westward. 33 And he made the middle bar to run from end to end halfway up the frames. 34 And he overlaid the frames with gold, and made their rings of gold for holders for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.

35 (J)He made the veil of blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen; with cherubim skillfully worked into it he made it. 36 And for it he made four pillars of acacia and overlaid them with gold. Their hooks were of gold, and he cast for them four bases of silver. 37 He also made a screen for the entrance of the tent, of blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, embroidered with needlework, 38 and its five pillars with their hooks. He overlaid their capitals, and their fillets were of gold, but their five bases were of bronze.

36 —Bezalel, Ooliabe e todos aqueles a quem o SENHOR deu habilidade e sabedoria para construírem o santuário, deverão fazê-lo, de acordo com todas as ordens do SENHOR.

2 Moisés chamou Bezalel, Ooliabe e todas as pessoas capazes, a quem o SENHOR tinha dado sabedoria. E todas elas se ofereceram para ajudar Moisés no trabalho. 3 Moisés então entregou-lhes todas as ofertas que o povo tinha dado para a construção do santuário. Entretanto, todos os dias, o povo trazia mais ofertas. 4 Até que os artesãos deixaram o seu trabalho e foram falar com Moisés. Eles falaram isto:

5 —O povo está trazendo muito mais do que é preciso para o trabalho que o SENHOR mandou fazer.

6 Então Moisés mandou anunciar a seguinte mensagem por todo o acampamento:

A Tenda Sagrada

8 Assim os trabalhadores que tinham mais habilidade fizeram a Tenda Sagrada. Eles utilizaram dez cortinas feitas de linho fino e tecido de azul, roxo e vermelho e com querubins bordados nelas. 9 Cada cortina media doze metros e meio de comprimento por um metro e oitenta de largura. Todas as cortinas tinham o mesmo tamanho.

10 Uniram as cortinas em dois grupos de cinco cortinas cada. 11 Fizeram laços de tecido azul ao longo da borda da última cortina de cada grupo. 12 Fizeram cinquenta laços na última cortina de cada grupo, de modo que cada laço ficasse em frente do outro. 13 Depois fizeram cinquenta argolas de ouro e nelas prenderam os laços para que as duas cortinas se unissem. Assim a Tenda Sagrada formava um todo.

14 Fizeram outra tenda para servir de cobertura para a Tenda Sagrada. Essa tenda foi feita com onze cortinas de pelo de cabra. 15 Todas as cortinas eram do mesmo tamanho, cada uma media treze metros de comprimento por dois metros de largura. 16 Costuraram cinco cortinas para formar um grupo e costuraram também as outras seis cortinas para formar outro grupo. 17 Depois fizeram cinquenta laços no fim de cada cortina de cada um dos dois grupos. 18 Fizeram cinquenta argolas de bronze, para que a tenda ficasse unida. 19 Fizeram também duas coberturas para a Tenda Sagrada. A primeira feita de peles de carneiro tingidas de vermelho e a segunda feita de pele finas.

20 Fizeram armações de madeira de acácia para segurar a Tenda Sagrada. 21 Cada armação media quatro metros e meio de altura por setenta centímetros de largura. 22 Cada armação tinha dois postes para unir as tábuas. Assim foram feitas todas as tábuas da Tenda Sagrada. 23 Fizeram armações para colocar na Tenda Sagrada: vinte armações para o lado sul, 24 e quarenta bases de prata para as armações. Cada armação tinha duas bases, uma para cada poste. 25 Fizeram também vinte armações para colocar no lado norte da Tenda Sagrada, 26 e quarenta bases de prata para colocar duas bases debaixo de cada armação. 27 Para a parte de trás da Tenda Sagrada, isto é, do lado oeste, fizeram seis armações. 28 Fizeram duas armações para as esquinas da parte de trás da Tenda Sagrada. 29 As armações das esquinas eram unidas por baixo e juntas em cima por meio de uma argola. 30 Havia oito armações e dezesseis bases, duas bases debaixo de cada armação.

33 Fizeram a travessa central que passava de um lado para outro, a meia altura das armações. 34 Revestiram de ouro as armações, e fizeram argolas de ouro para enfiar nelas as travessas já revestidas de ouro. 35 Fizeram uma cortina de linho fino e de fios de tecido azul, roxo e vermelho, e bordaram nele querubins, uma obra de arte.

36 Penduraram a cortina com ganchos de ouro em quatro colunas de madeira de acácia revestidas de ouro e montadas em quatro bases de prata. 37 Depois fizeram a cortina de fios de tecido azul, roxo e vermelho, e de linho fino, obra de arte. 38 Fizeram as cinco colunas com madeira de acácia, revestidas de ouro, e colocaram nelas ganchos de ouro. Também fizeram cinco bases de bronze para as colunas.

2 Then Moses summoned Bezalel(C) and Oholiab(D) and every skilled person to whom the Lord had given ability and who was willing(E) to come and do the work. 3 They received from Moses all the offerings(F) the Israelites had brought to carry out the work of constructing the sanctuary. And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning. 4 So all the skilled workers who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left what they were doing 5 and said to Moses, “The people are bringing more than enough(G) for doing the work the Lord commanded to be done.”

6 Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: “No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.” And so the people were restrained from bringing more, 7 because what they already had was more(H) than enough to do all the work.

The Tabernacle(I)

8 All those who were skilled among the workers made the tabernacle with ten curtains of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, with cherubim woven into them by expert hands. 9 All the curtains were the same size—twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide.[a] 10 They joined five of the curtains together and did the same with the other five. 11 Then they made loops of blue material along the edge of the end curtain in one set, and the same was done with the end curtain in the other set. 12 They also made fifty loops on one curtain and fifty loops on the end curtain of the other set, with the loops opposite each other. 13 Then they made fifty gold clasps and used them to fasten the two sets of curtains together so that the tabernacle was a unit.(J)

14 They made curtains of goat hair for the tent over the tabernacle—eleven altogether. 15 All eleven curtains were the same size—thirty cubits long and four cubits wide.[b] 16 They joined five of the curtains into one set and the other six into another set. 17 Then they made fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in one set and also along the edge of the end curtain in the other set. 18 They made fifty bronze clasps to fasten the tent together as a unit.(K) 19 Then they made for the tent a covering of ram skins dyed red, and over that a covering of the other durable leather.[c]

20 They made upright frames of acacia wood for the tabernacle. 21 Each frame was ten cubits long and a cubit and a half wide,[d] 22 with two projections set parallel to each other. They made all the frames of the tabernacle in this way. 23 They made twenty frames for the south side of the tabernacle 24 and made forty silver bases to go under them—two bases for each frame, one under each projection. 25 For the other side, the north side of the tabernacle, they made twenty frames 26 and forty silver bases—two under each frame. 27 They made six frames for the far end, that is, the west end of the tabernacle, 28 and two frames were made for the corners of the tabernacle at the far end. 29 At these two corners the frames were double from the bottom all the way to the top and fitted into a single ring; both were made alike. 30 So there were eight frames and sixteen silver bases—two under each frame.

31 They also made crossbars of acacia wood: five for the frames on one side of the tabernacle, 32 five for those on the other side, and five for the frames on the west, at the far end of the tabernacle. 33 They made the center crossbar so that it extended from end to end at the middle of the frames. 34 They overlaid the frames with gold and made gold rings to hold the crossbars. They also overlaid the crossbars with gold.

35 They made the curtain(L) of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen, with cherubim woven into it by a skilled worker. 36 They made four posts of acacia wood for it and overlaid them with gold. They made gold hooks for them and cast their four silver bases. 37 For the entrance to the tent they made a curtain of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen—the work of an embroiderer;(M) 38 and they made five posts with hooks for them. They overlaid the tops of the posts and their bands with gold and made their five bases of bronze.
