The Shining Face of Moses
29 Moses came down from Mount Sinai. As he came down from the mountain with the two tablets of the covenant[a] in his hand, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God. 30 When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, the skin of his face was shining, and they were afraid to come near him. 31 But Moses called to them; and Aaron and all the leaders of the congregation returned to him, and Moses spoke with them. 32 Afterward all the Israelites came near, and he gave them in commandment all that the Lord had spoken with him on Mount Sinai. 33 When Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil on his face; 34 but whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with him, he would take the veil off, until he came out; and when he came out, and told the Israelites what he had been commanded, 35 the Israelites would see the face of Moses, that the skin of his face was shining; and Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

Mosè non sapeva che la pelle del suo viso era diventata tutta raggiante mentre egli parlava con il Signore. 30 Aaronne e tutti i figli d’Israele guardarono Mosè, e videro che la pelle del suo viso era tutta raggiante. Perciò ebbero paura di avvicinarsi a lui. 31 Ma Mosè li chiamò, e Aaronne e tutti i capi della comunità tornarono a lui, e Mosè parlò loro. 32 Dopo questo, tutti i figli d’Israele si avvicinarono, ed egli impose loro tutto quello che il Signore gli aveva detto sul monte Sinai. 33 Quando Mosè ebbe finito di parlare con loro, si mise un velo sulla faccia. 34 Ma quando Mosè entrava alla presenza del Signore per parlare con lui, si toglieva il velo, finché non tornava fuori; poi tornava fuori e diceva ai figli d’Israele quello che gli era stato comandato. 35 I figli d’Israele, guardando la faccia di Mosè, vedevano la sua pelle tutta raggiante; Mosè si rimetteva il velo sulla faccia, finché non entrava a parlare con il Signore.

29 Als nun Mose vom Berg Sinai herabstieg — und die beiden Tafeln des Zeugnisses waren in der Hand Moses, als er vom Berg hinabstieg —, da wusste Mose nicht, dass die Haut seines Angesichts strahlte, weil er mit Ihm geredet hatte.
30 Und Aaron und alle Kinder Israels sahen Mose, und siehe, die Haut seines Angesichtes strahlte; da fürchteten sie sich, ihm zu nahen.
31 Aber Mose rief sie; da wandten sie sich zu ihm, Aaron und alle Obersten der Gemeinde; und Mose redete zu ihnen.
32 Danach traten alle Kinder Israels näher zu ihm. Und er gebot ihnen alles, was der Herr zu ihm geredet hatte auf dem Berg Sinai.
33 Als nun Mose aufhörte mit ihnen zu reden, legte er eine Decke auf sein Angesicht.
34 Und immer, wenn Mose hineinging vor den Herrn, um mit ihm zu reden, nahm er die Decke ab, bis er wieder herausging. Dann ging er heraus und redete zu den Kindern Israels, was ihm befohlen war.
35 Und die Kinder Israels sahen dann das Angesicht Moses, dass die Haut desselben strahlte, und Mose legte die Decke wieder auf sein Angesicht, bis er wieder hineinging, um mit Ihm zu reden.

29 Azután Mózes fogta a szövetség két kőtábláját, és lement a Sínai-hegyről a táborba. Mivel előzőleg az Örökkévalóval beszélt, Mózes arcáról sugárzott a fény — bár ezt ő maga nem tudta. 30 Amikor Áron és Izráel egész népe meglátta, hogy Mózes arca fénylik, megriadtak tőle. 31 De Mózes magához hívta őket, és ekkor Áron és a közösség összes vezetője odament hozzá, ő pedig beszélt velük. 32 Azután Izráel egész népe Mózeshez gyülekezett. Mózes közvetítette a népnek mindazokat a parancsokat, amelyeket az Örökkévaló a Sínai-hegyen mondott neki.
33 Miután Mózes befejezte a beszédet az emberekkel, egy lenvászon-kendővel eltakarta az arcát. 34 De valahányszor bement a sátorba, hogy az Örökkévalóval beszéljen, levette arcáról a kendőt, amíg bent maradt. Azután kijött, ismét eltakarta az arcát, és így mondta el Izráel népének az Örökkévaló üzeneteit és parancsait. 35 Mivel a nép látta, hogy Mózes arcáról sugárzik a fény, ő eltakarta az arcát előlük, amíg vissza nem ment az Örökkévaló jelenlétébe, hogy beszéljen vele.

29 Puis Moïse redescendit du mont Sinaï, tenant en main les deux tablettes de l’acte de l’alliance. Il ne savait pas que la peau de son visage était devenue rayonnante pendant qu’il s’entretenait avec l’Eternel[a]. 30 Aaron et tous les Israélites regardèrent Moïse, et s’aperçurent que la peau de son visage rayonnait. Ils eurent peur de s’approcher de lui. 31 Alors Moïse les appela. Aaron et tous les chefs de la communauté revinrent vers lui, et il s’entretint avec eux. 32 Après cela, tous les Israélites s’approchèrent de lui et il leur transmit tous les commandements que l’Eternel lui avait donnés sur le mont Sinaï.
33 Quand il eut terminé de parler avec eux, il se couvrit le visage d’un voile. 34 Lorsqu’il se rendait devant l’Eternel pour s’entretenir avec lui, il ôtait le voile jusqu’à ce qu’il ressorte de la tente. A sa sortie, il communiquait aux Israélites les ordres qu’il avait reçus. 35 Les Israélites voyaient que la peau du visage de Moïse rayonnait, puis Moïse remettait le voile sur son visage jusqu’à ce qu’il retourne s’entretenir avec l’Eternel.
