Other Priestly Garments

³⁹ “You are to weave the tunic from fine linen, make a turban of fine linen, and make an embroidered sash. ⁴⁰ Make tunics, sashes, and headbands for Aaron’s sons to give them glory and beauty.^{(A) 41} Put these on your brother Aaron and his sons; then anoint,^(B) ordain,^[a] and consecrate^(C) them, so that they may serve me as priests. ⁴² Make them linen undergarments^(D) to cover their naked bodies; they must extend from the waist to the thighs. ⁴³ These must be worn by Aaron and his sons whenever they enter the tent of meeting or approach the altar to minister in the sanctuary area, so that they do not incur guilt^(E) and die. This is to be a permanent statute^(F) for Aaron and for his future descendants.

⁴ As you come to him, a living stone—rejected by people but chosen and honored by^[a] God— ⁵ you yourselves, as living stones, a spiritual house, are being built to be a holy priesthood^[b] to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God^(A) through Jesus Christ.

²⁷ Now you are the body of Christ,^(A) and individual members of it. ²⁸ And God has appointed these in the church:^(B) first apostles, second prophets, third teachers,^(C) next miracles,^(D) then gifts of healing,^(E) helping, leading, various kinds of tongues.^{[a] 29} Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all do miracles? ³⁰ Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?^(F)
