The Courtyard

“You(A) are to make the courtyard for the tabernacle. Make the hangings on the south of the courtyard out of finely spun linen, 150 feet[a] long on that side. 10 There are to be 20 posts and 20 bronze bases. The hooks and bands[b] of the posts must be silver. 11 Then make the hangings on the north side 150 feet[c] long. There are to be 20 posts and 20 bronze bases. The hooks and bands[d] of the posts must be silver. 12 Make the hangings of the courtyard on the west side 75 feet[e] long, including their 10 posts and 10 bases. 13 Make the hangings of the courtyard on the east side toward the sunrise 75 feet.[f] 14 Make the hangings on one side of the gate 22½ feet,[g] including their three posts and their three bases. 15 And make the hangings on the other side 22½ feet,[h] including their three posts and their three bases. 16 The gate of the courtyard is to have a thirty-foot[i] screen(B) embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen. It is to have four posts including their four bases.

17 “All the posts around the courtyard are to be banded with silver and have silver hooks and bronze bases. 18 The length of the courtyard is to be 150 feet, the width 75 feet at each end, and the height 7½ feet,[j] all of it made of finely spun linen. The bases of the posts must be bronze. 19 All the tools of the tabernacle for every use and all its tent pegs as well as all the tent pegs of the courtyard are to be made of bronze.

Instructions for the dwelling’s courtyard

You should also set up the dwelling’s courtyard. The courtyard’s south side should have drapes of fine twisted linen stretching one hundred fifty feet on that side, 10 with twenty posts, twenty copper bases, and silver hooks and bands for the posts. 11 Likewise along the north side the drapes should stretch one hundred fifty feet, with twenty posts, twenty copper bases, and silver hooks and bands for the posts. 12 The courtyard’s width on the west side should consist of seventy-five feet of drapes with their ten posts and their ten bases. 13 The courtyard’s width on the front, facing east, should be seventy-five feet. 14 There should be twenty-two and a half feet of drapes on one side with three posts and three bases for them. 15 There should be twenty-two and a half feet of drapes on the other side with three posts and three bases for them. 16 For the gate into the courtyard there will be a screen thirty feet long, made of blue, purple, and deep red yarns and of fine twisted linen, decorated with needlework. It will have four posts with their four bases. 17 All the posts around the courtyard will have silver bands, silver hooks, and copper bases. 18 The courtyard will be one hundred fifty feet long and seventy-five feet wide. Its walls’ height will be seven and a half feet of fine twisted linen and its copper bases. 19 All the dwelling’s equipment for any use and all its tent pegs and all the courtyard’s tent pegs will be made of copper.
