³⁷ “Then make its seven lamps^(A) and set them up on it so that they light the space in front of it.

³³ Hang the curtain from the clasps and place the ark of the covenant law behind the curtain.^(A) The curtain will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.^(B)

³⁵ Place the table^(A) outside the curtain on the north side of the tabernacle and put the lampstand^(B) opposite it on the south side.

³⁶ “For the entrance to the tent make a curtain^(C) of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen—the work of an embroiderer.^(D)

The Courtyard^(A)

⁹ “Make a courtyard^(B) for the tabernacle. The south side shall be a hundred cubits^[a] long and is to have curtains of finely twisted linen,

⁵ Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.^{(A) 6} Put the altar in front of the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law—before the atonement cover^(B) that is over the tablets of the covenant law—where I will meet with you.

⁷ “Aaron must burn fragrant incense^(C) on the altar every morning when he tends the lamps.

¹⁹ Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet^(A) with water^(B) from it. ²⁰ Whenever they enter the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water so that they will not die.^(C) Also, when they approach the altar to minister by presenting a food offering to the Lord,

Setting Up the Tabernacle

40 Then the Lord said to Moses: ² “Set up^(A) the tabernacle, the tent of meeting,^(B) on the first day of the first month.^{(C) 3} Place the ark^(D) of the covenant law in it and shield the ark with the curtain. ⁴ Bring in the table^(E) and set out what belongs on it.^(F) Then bring in the lampstand^(G) and set up its lamps. ⁵ Place the gold altar^(H) of incense in front of the ark of the covenant law and put the curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle.

⁶ “Place the altar^(I) of burnt offering in front of the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting; ⁷ place the basin^(J) between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it.
