¹⁴ You shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, to carry the ark with them. ¹⁵ The ^(A)poles shall ^[a]remain in the rings of the ark; they shall not be removed from it.

¹⁵ When Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy objects and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, when the camp is to set out, after that the sons of Kohath shall come to carry them by the poles, so that they will not touch the holy objects ^(A)and die. These are the ^[a]things in the tent of meeting that the sons of Kohath are to carry.

⁹ But he did not give any to the sons of Kohath, because theirs was ^(A)the service of the holy objects, which they carried on the shoulder.

^8 (A)At that time the Lord singled out the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord, to stand before the Lord ^(B)to serve Him and to bless in His name, until this day.

⁹ So Moses wrote this Law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi ^(A)who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to all the elders of Israel.

²⁵ that Moses commanded the Levites ^(A)who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying,
