⁷ Keep far from a false charge, and do not kill the innocent and those in the right, for I will not acquit the guilty.^(A)

²⁵ So then, putting away falsehood, let each of you speak the truth with your neighbor, for we are members of one another.^(A)

Justice for All

23 “You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with the wicked to act as a malicious witness.^(A)

¹¹ “You shall not steal; you shall not deal falsely; and you shall not lie to one another.^(A)

²² abstain from every form of evil.

The Guilt of Humankind

¹⁸ For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and injustice of those who by their injustice suppress the truth.^(A)

¹⁶ If a malicious witness comes forward to accuse someone of wrongdoing,^{(A) 17} then both parties to the dispute shall appear before the Lord, before the priests and the judges who are in office in those days,^{(B) 18} and the judges shall make a thorough inquiry. If the witness is a false witness, having testified falsely against another, ¹⁹ then you shall do to the false witness just as the false witness had meant to do to the other. So you shall purge the evil from your midst.^{(C) 20} The rest shall hear and be afraid, and a crime such as this shall never again be committed among you. ²¹ Show no pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.^(D)

⁵ But by your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.^{(A) 6} He will repay according to each one’s deeds:^(B)
