God’s Angel to Prepare the Way

²⁰ “See, I am sending an angel^(A) ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.^(B)

¹⁵ Has not the one God made you?^(A) You belong to him in body and spirit. And what does the one God seek? Godly offspring.^[a](B) So be on your guard,^(C) and do not be unfaithful^(D) to the wife of your youth.

¹⁶ “The man who hates and divorces his wife,^(E)” says the Lord, the God of Israel, “does violence to the one he should protect,”^[b](F) says the Lord Almighty.

So be on your guard,^(G) and do not be unfaithful.

³⁷ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors^(A) through him who loved us.^(B)

²⁰ If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing^(A) our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ^(B) and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning.^(C)
