¹⁶ On the morning of the third day there was thunder^(A) and lightning, with a thick cloud^(B) over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast.^(C) Everyone in the camp trembled.^{(D) 17} Then Moses led the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.^(E)

⁴ Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns^(A) in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets.^{(B) 5} When you hear them sound a long blast^(C) on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout;^(D) then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.”
