³⁵ And ^(A)the sons of Israel ate the manna for forty years, until they came to an inhabited land; they ate the manna until they came to the border of the land of Canaan.

³³ Also, your sons will be shepherds in the wilderness for ^(A)forty years, and they will ^[a]suffer for your unfaithfulness, until your bodies perish in the wilderness. ³⁴ In accordance with the ^(B)number of days that you spied out the land, forty days, for every day you shall suffer the punishment for your ^[b]guilt a year, that is, forty years, and you will know My opposition.

^13 (A)So the Lord’s anger burned against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness for forty years, until the entire generation of those who had done evil in the sight of the Lord came to an end.

⁶ For the sons of Israel walked ^(A)forty years in the wilderness, until all the nation, that is, the men of war who came out of Egypt, ^[a]perished because they did not listen to the voice of the Lord, ^(B)to whom the Lord had sworn that He would not let them see the land which the Lord had sworn to their fathers to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.
