The Temptation of Jesus

4 ^(A)Now Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, ^(B)returned from the Jordan and was led around ^[a]by the Spirit in the wilderness

²² And when He had said this, He breathed on them and *said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

⁴ And they were all ^(A)filled with the Holy Spirit and began to ^(B)speak with different ^[a]tongues, as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out.

⁶ And when Paul had ^(A)laid hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them and they began ^(B)speaking with tongues and ^(C)prophesying.

^6 (A)whom He ^(B)richly poured out upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior,

¹¹ For who among people knows the thoughts of a person except the ^(A)spirit of the person that is in him? So also the thoughts of God no one knows, except the Spirit of God.

⁶ in purity, in ^(A)knowledge, in ^(B)patience, in kindness, in the ^(C)Holy Spirit, in ^(D)genuine love,
