8 The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt and he pursued the Israelites, who were going out boldly. 9 The Egyptians pursued them, all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots, his chariot drivers and his army; they overtook them camped by the sea, by Pi-hahiroth, in front of Baal-zephon.
10 As Pharaoh drew near, the Israelites looked back, and there were the Egyptians advancing on them. In great fear the Israelites cried out to the Lord.

8 The Lord hardened the heart(A) of Pharaoh king of Egypt, so that he pursued the Israelites, who were marching out boldly.(B) 9 The Egyptians—all Pharaoh’s horses(C) and chariots, horsemen[a] and troops(D)—pursued the Israelites and overtook(E) them as they camped by the sea near Pi Hahiroth, opposite Baal Zephon.(F)
10 As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried(G) out to the Lord.

10 And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Israel (D)cried out to the Lord.
