21 (A)Then Moses reached out with his hand over the sea; and the Lord [a]swept the sea back by a strong east wind all night, and turned the sea into (B)dry land, and (C)the waters were divided. 22 So (D)the sons of Israel [b]went through the midst of the sea on the dry land, and (E)the waters were like a wall to them on their right and on their left. 23 Then (F)the Egyptians took up the pursuit, and all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen went in after them into the midst of the sea. 24 But at the morning watch, (G)the Lord looked down on the [c]army of the Egyptians [d]through the pillar of fire and cloud, and brought the [e]army of the Egyptians into confusion. 25 He [f]caused their chariot wheels to swerve, and He made them drive with difficulty; so the Egyptians each said, “Let me flee from Israel, (H)for the Lord is fighting for them against the Egyptians.”

26 Then the Lord said to Moses, “(I)Reach out with your hand over the sea so that the waters may come back over the Egyptians, over their chariots and their horsemen.” 27 So Moses reached out with his hand over the sea, and (J)the sea returned to its normal state at daybreak, while the Egyptians were fleeing [g]right into it; then the Lord [h](K)overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. 28 The waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen, Pharaoh’s entire army that had gone into the sea after them; (L)not even one of them remained. 29 But the sons of Israel walked on (M)dry land through the midst of the sea, and the waters were like a wall to them on their right and on their left.

30 (N)So the Lord saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel (O)saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. 31 When Israel saw the great [i]power which the Lord had [j]used against the Egyptians, the people [k]feared the Lord, and (P)they believed in the Lord and in His servant Moses.

So Peter was kept in the prison, but prayer for him was being made to God [a]intensely by the church.

On [b]the very night when Herod was about to bring him forward, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, (A)bound with two chains, and guards in front of the door were watching over the prison. And behold, (B)an angel of the Lord suddenly (C)stood near Peter, and a light shone in the cell; and he struck Peter’s side and woke him, saying, “Get up quickly.” And (D)his chains fell off his hands. And the angel said to him, “Put on your belt and [c]strap on your sandals.” And he did so. And he *said to him, “Wrap your cloak around you and follow me.” And he went out and continued to follow, and yet he did not know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing (E)a vision. 10 Now when they had passed the first and second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which (F)opened for them by itself; and they went out and went along one street, and immediately the angel departed from him. 11 When Peter (G)came [d]to himself, he said, “Now I know for sure that (H)the Lord has sent forth His angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all [e]that the Jewish people were expecting.”
