¹¹ Then ^(A)they said to Moses, “Is it because there were no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you dealt with us in this way, ^[a]bringing us out of Egypt? ^12 (B)Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, ‘^[b]Leave us alone so that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness!”

² But the whole congregation of the sons of Israel ^(A)grumbled against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness. ³ The sons of Israel said to them, “^(B)If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in the land of Egypt, ^(C)when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate bread until we were full; for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this entire assembly with hunger!”

The Lord Provides Meat

⁸ And Moses said, “This will happen when the Lord gives you meat to eat in the evening, and bread to the full in the morning; for the Lord hears your grumblings which you grumble against Him. And what are we? Your grumblings are ^(A)not against us but against the Lord.”

¹⁰ so that at the name of Jesus ^(A)every knee will bow, of ^(B)those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, ¹¹ and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is ^(C)Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

¹² So then, my beloved, ^(D)just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own ^(E)salvation with ^(F)fear and trembling; ¹³ for it is ^(G)God who is at work in you, both to ^[a]desire and to work ^(H)for His good pleasure.

¹⁴ Do all things without ^(I)complaining or arguments; ¹⁵ so that you will ^[b]prove yourselves to be ^(J)blameless and innocent, ^(K)children of God above reproach in the midst of a ^(L)crooked and perverse generation, among whom you ^[c](M)appear as ^[d]lights in the world,
