The Sixth Plague: Boils(A)

So the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Take for yourselves handfuls of ashes from a furnace, and let Moses scatter it toward the heavens in the sight of Pharaoh. And it will become fine dust in all the land of Egypt, and it will cause (B)boils that break out in sores on man and beast throughout all the land of Egypt.” 10 Then they took ashes from the furnace and stood before Pharaoh, and Moses scattered them toward heaven. And they caused (C)boils that break out in sores on man and beast. 11 And the (D)magicians could not stand before Moses because of the (E)boils, for the boils were on the magicians and on all the Egyptians. 12 But the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh; and he (F)did not heed them, just (G)as the Lord had spoken to Moses.

The Seventh Plague: Hail

13 Then the Lord said to Moses, (H)“Rise early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh, and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord God of the Hebrews: “Let My people go, that they may (I)serve Me, 14 for at this time I will send all My plagues to your very heart, and on your servants and on your people, (J)that you may know that there is none like Me in all the earth. 15 Now if I had (K)stretched out My hand and struck you and your people with (L)pestilence, then you would have been cut off from the earth. 16 But indeed for (M)this purpose I have raised you up, that I may (N)show My power in you, and that My (O)name may be declared in all the earth. 17 As yet you exalt yourself against My people in that you will not let them go.

The Plague of Boils

Then the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Take handfuls of soot from a furnace and have Moses toss it into the air in the presence of Pharaoh. It will become fine dust over the whole land of Egypt, and festering boils(A) will break out on people and animals throughout the land.”

10 So they took soot from a furnace and stood before Pharaoh. Moses tossed it into the air, and festering boils broke out on people and animals. 11 The magicians(B) could not stand before Moses because of the boils that were on them and on all the Egyptians. 12 But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart(C) and he would not listen(D) to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said to Moses.

The Plague of Hail

13 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Get up early in the morning, confront Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: Let my people go, so that they may worship(E) me, 14 or this time I will send the full force of my plagues against you and against your officials and your people, so you may know(F) that there is no one like(G) me in all the earth. 15 For by now I could have stretched out my hand and struck you and your people(H) with a plague that would have wiped you off the earth. 16 But I have raised you up[a] for this very purpose,(I) that I might show you my power(J) and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth. 17 You still set yourself against my people and will not let them go.
