Exodus 8:18-20

18 Now (A)the magicians so worked with their [a]enchantments to bring forth lice, but they (B)could not. So there were lice on man and beast. 19 Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is (C)the[b] finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s (D)heart grew hard, and he did not heed them, just as the Lord had said.

New International Version
18 But when the magicians(A) tried to produce gnats by their secret arts,(B) they could not.
Since the gnats were on people and animals everywhere, 19 the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger(C) of God.” But Pharaoh’s heart(D) was hard and he would not listen,(E) just as the Lord had said.
