2 Elohim spoke to Moses, “I am Yahweh. 3 I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as El Shadday, but I didn’t make myself known to them by my name, Yahweh. 4 I even made a promise[a] to give them Canaan, the land where they lived as foreigners.

New International Version
2 God also said to Moses, “I am the Lord.(A) 3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty,[a](B) but by my name(C) the Lord[b](D) I did not make myself fully known to them. 4 I also established my covenant(E) with them to give them the land(F) of Canaan, where they resided as foreigners.(G)

4 And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers.
