32 Thus all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting was finished, and the people of Israel did (A)according to all that the Lord had commanded Moses; so they did. 33 Then they brought the tabernacle to Moses, the tent and all its utensils, its hooks, its frames, its bars, its pillars, and its bases; 34 the covering of tanned rams' skins and goatskins, and the (B)veil of the screen; 35 the ark of the testimony with its poles and the mercy seat; 36 the table with all its utensils, and the bread of the Presence; 37 (C)the lampstand of pure gold and its lamps with the lamps set and all its utensils, and the oil for the light; 38 (D)the golden altar, the anointing oil and the fragrant incense, and (E)the screen for the entrance of the tent; 39 the bronze altar, and its grating of bronze, its poles, and all its utensils; the basin and its stand; 40 (F)the hangings of the court, its pillars, and its bases, and the (G)screen for the gate of the court, its (H)cords, and its pegs; and all the utensils for the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of meeting; 41 the finely worked garments for ministering in the Holy Place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons for their service as priests. 42 (I)According to all that the Lord had commanded Moses, so the people of Israel had done all the work. 43 And Moses saw all the work, and behold, they had done it; as the Lord had commanded, so had they done it. Then Moses (J)blessed them.

The Tabernacle Erected

40 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “On the (K)first day of the first month you shall (L)erect the tabernacle of the tent of meeting. And you shall put in it the ark of the testimony, and you shall (M)screen the ark with the veil. And (N)you shall bring in the table and arrange it, and (O)you shall bring in the lampstand and set up its lamps. (P)And you shall put the golden altar for incense before the ark of the testimony, and set up the screen for the door of the tabernacle. (Q)You shall set the altar of burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, (R)and place the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it. And you shall set up the court all around, and hang up the screen for the gate of the court.

“Then you shall take the (S)anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it, and consecrate it and all its furniture, so that it may become holy. 10 You shall also anoint (T)the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and consecrate the altar, (U)so that the altar may become most holy. 11 You shall also anoint the basin and its stand, and consecrate it. 12 (V)Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tent of meeting and shall wash them with water 13 and put on Aaron the holy garments. And you shall anoint him and consecrate him, that he may serve me as priest. 14 You shall bring his sons also and put coats on them, 15 (W)and anoint them, as you anointed their father, that they may serve me as priests. And their anointing shall admit them to a (X)perpetual priesthood throughout their generations.”

16 This Moses did; according to all that the Lord commanded him, so he did.

The Tent Is Brought to Moses

32 So all the work on the inner tent (the tent of meeting) was now done. The Israelites followed all the Lord’s instructions to Moses. 33 Then they brought everything to Moses—the inner tent, the outer tent and all its furnishings, the fasteners, frames, crossbars, posts, sockets, 34 the cover made of rams’ skins dyed red, the cover made of fine leather, the canopy over ⌞the ark⌟, 35 the ark containing the words of God’s promise with its poles and the throne of mercy, 36 the table with all the dishes, the bread of the presence, 37 the pure ⌞gold⌟ lamp stand with its lamps in a row and all its utensils, the olive oil for the lamps, 38 the gold altar, the anointing oil, the sweet-smelling incense, the screen for the entrance to the tent, 39 the bronze altar with its bronze grate, its poles, and all its accessories, the basin with its stand, 40 the curtains for the courtyard, the posts, bases, and screen for the entrance to the courtyard, the ropes and pegs—all the equipment needed for the service of the inner tent (the tent of meeting)— 41 the special clothes worn when serving as priests in the holy place—both the holy clothes for the priest Aaron and the clothes for his sons when serving as priests. 42 The Israelites had done all the work following the Lord’s instructions to Moses.

43 Moses inspected all the work and saw that they had followed the Lord’s instructions. So Moses blessed them.

Instructions for Setting Up the Tent

40 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Set up the tent (the tent of meeting) on the first day of the first month of the year. Place the ark containing the words of my promise inside it, and hang the canopy over the ark. Bring in the table, and arrange everything on it. Bring in the lamp stand, and set up the lamps. Put the gold altar for incense in front of the ark. Put up the screen at the entrance to the tent.

“Put the altar for burnt offerings in front of the entrance to the tent of meeting. Put the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it. Set up the surrounding courtyard, and put up the screen at the entrance to the courtyard. Take the anointing oil, and anoint the tent and everything in it. In this way you will dedicate it and all its furnishings. Then it will be holy. 10 Anoint the altar for burnt offerings and all the utensils. In this way you will dedicate the altar, and it will be most holy. 11 Anoint the basin and stand, and they will be dedicated.

12 “Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tent of meeting, and wash them. 13 Then dress Aaron in the holy clothes, and anoint him. In this way you will dedicate him to serve me as priest. 14 Have his sons come forward, and dress them in their linen robes. 15 Anoint them to serve me as priests, as you anointed their father. Their anointing will begin a permanent priesthood for them for generations to come.”

Moses Sets Up the Tent

16 Moses did everything as the Lord commanded him.

La obra del tabernáculo terminada

(Ex. 35.10-19)

и поставь в ней ковчег откровения, и закрой ковчег завесою;

и внеси стол и расставь на нем все вещи его, и внеси светильник и поставь на нем лампады его;

и поставь жертвенник всесожжения пред входом в скинию собрания;

и поставь умывальник между скиниею собрания и между жертвенником и влей в него воды;

И возьми елея помазания, и помажь скинию и все, что в ней, и освяти ее и все принадлежности ее, и будет свята;

10 помажь жертвенник всесожжения и все принадлежности его, и освяти жертвенник, и будет жертвенник святыня великая;

Jesus Calms a Storm

22 (A)One day he got into a boat with his disciples, and he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side of (B)the lake.” So they set out, 23 and as they sailed he fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on (C)the lake, and they were filling with water and were in danger. 24 And they went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And he awoke and (D)rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, (E)and there was a calm. 25 He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they (F)were afraid, and they (G)marveled, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that (H)he commands even winds and water, and they obey him?”

Jesus Heals a Man with a Demon

26 (I)Then they sailed to the country of the Gerasenes,[a] which is opposite Galilee. 27 When Jesus[b] had stepped out on land, there met him a man from the city who had demons. For a long time he had worn no clothes, and he had not lived in a house (J)but among the tombs. 28 When he saw Jesus, he (K)cried out and fell down before him and said (L)with a loud voice, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, (M)Son of (N)the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me.” 29 For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. (For many a time it had seized him. He was kept under guard and bound with chains and shackles, but he would break the bonds and be driven by the demon (O)into the desert.) 30 Jesus then asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, (P)“Legion,” for many demons had entered him. 31 And they begged him not to command them to depart into (Q)the abyss. 32 Now a large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside, and they begged him to let them enter these. So he gave them permission. 33 Then the demons came out of the man and entered the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into (R)the lake and drowned.

34 When the herdsmen saw what had happened, they fled and told it in the city and in the country. 35 Then people went out to see what had happened, and they came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone, sitting (S)at the feet of Jesus, (T)clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid. 36 And those who had seen it told them how the demon-possessed[c] man had been healed. 37 Then all the people of the surrounding country of the Gerasenes (U)asked him to depart from them, for they were seized with great fear. So he got into the boat and returned. 38 The man from whom the demons had gone begged that he might be with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, 39 “Return to your home, and (V)declare how much God has done for you.” And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him.

Jesus Calms the Sea(A)

22 One day Jesus and his disciples got into a boat. He said to them, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” So they started out. 23 As they were sailing along, Jesus fell asleep.

A violent storm came across the lake. The boat was taking on water, and they were in danger. 24 They went to him, woke him up, and said, “Master! Master! We’re going to die!”

Then he got up and ordered the wind and the waves to stop. The wind stopped, and the sea became calm. 25 He asked them, “Where is your faith?”

Frightened and amazed, they asked each other, “Who is this man? He gives orders to the wind and the water, and they obey him!”

Jesus Cures a Demon-Possessed Man(B)

26 They landed in the region of the Gerasenes across from Galilee. 27 When Jesus stepped out on the shore, a certain man from the city met him. The man was possessed by demons and had not worn clothes for a long time. He would not stay in a house but lived in the tombs. 28 When he saw Jesus, he shouted, fell in front of him, and said in a loud voice, “Why are you bothering me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you not to torture me!” 29 Jesus ordered the evil spirit to come out of the man. (The evil spirit had controlled the man for a long time. People had kept him under guard. He was chained hand and foot. But he would break the chains. Then the demon would force him to go into the desert.)

30 Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”

He answered, “Legion [Six Thousand].” (Many demons had entered him.) 31 The demons begged Jesus not to order them to go into the bottomless pit.

32 A large herd of pigs was feeding on a mountainside. The demons begged Jesus to let them enter those pigs. So he let them do this. 33 The demons came out of the man and went into the pigs. Then the herd rushed down the cliff into the lake and drowned.

34 When those who had taken care of the pigs saw what had happened, they ran away. They reported everything in the city and countryside. 35 The people went to see what had happened. They came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone out. Dressed and in his right mind, he was sitting at Jesus’ feet. The people were frightened. 36 Those who had seen this told the people how Jesus had restored the demon-possessed man to health.

37 Then all the people from the surrounding region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave because they were terrified.

Jesus got into a boat and started back. 38 The man from whom the demons had gone out begged him, “Let me go with you.”

But Jesus sent the man away and told him, 39 “Go home to your family, and tell them how much God has done for you.” So the man left. He went through the whole city and told people how much Jesus had done for him.

Jesús calma la tempestad

(Mt. 8.23-27; Mr. 4.35-41)
