10 And he said, “Behold, (A)I am making a covenant. Before all your people (B)I will do marvels, such as have not been created in all the earth or in any nation. And all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the Lord, for it is an (C)awesome thing that I will do with you.
11 “Observe what I command you this day. Behold, (D)I will drive out before you the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. 12 (E)Take care, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land to which you go, lest it become a (F)snare in your midst. 13 You shall (G)tear down their altars and (H)break their pillars and cut down their (I)Asherim 14 (for (J)you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God), 15 (K)lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and when they (L)whore after their gods and sacrifice to their gods and (M)you are invited, you eat of his sacrifice, 16 and you take of (N)their daughters for your sons, and their daughters (O)whore after their gods and make your sons whore after their gods.
17 (P)“You shall not make for yourself any gods of cast metal.
18 (Q)“You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in (R)the month Abib, for in the month Abib you came out from Egypt. 19 (S)All that open the womb are mine, all your male[a] livestock, the firstborn of cow and sheep. 20 The (T)firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb, or if you will not redeem it you shall break its neck. All the firstborn of your sons you shall redeem. And (U)none shall appear before me empty-handed.
21 (V)“Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest. In plowing time and in harvest you shall rest. 22 (W)You shall observe the Feast of Weeks, the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the year's end. 23 (X)Three times in the year shall all your males appear before the Lord God, the God of Israel. 24 For I will (Y)cast out nations before you and (Z)enlarge your borders; (AA)no one shall covet your land, when you go up to appear before the Lord your God three times in the year.
25 (AB)“You shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with anything leavened, (AC)or let the sacrifice of the Feast of the Passover remain until the morning. 26 (AD)The best of the firstfruits of your ground you shall bring to the house of the Lord your God. (AE)You shall not boil a young goat in its mother's milk.”
27 And the Lord said to Moses, “Write these words, for in accordance with these words (AF)I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.” 28 (AG)So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread nor drank water. And he (AH)wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.[b]

Before all your people (B)I will perform miracles which have not been [b]produced in all the earth nor among any of the nations; and all the people [c]among whom you live will see the working of the Lord, for it is a fearful thing that I am going to perform with you.
11 “[d]Be sure to comply with what I am commanding you this day: behold, (C)I am going to drive out the Amorite from you, and the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite. 12 (D)Be careful that you do not make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land into which you are going, or it will become a snare in your midst. 13 (E)But rather, you are to tear down their altars and smash their memorial stones, and cut down their [e](F)Asherim 14 —for (G)you shall not worship any other god, because the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God— 15 otherwise you might make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they would prostitute themselves with their gods and (H)sacrifice to their gods, and someone (I)might invite you [f]to eat of his sacrifice, 16 and (J)you might take some of his daughters for your sons, and his daughters might prostitute themselves with their gods and cause your sons also to prostitute themselves with their gods. 17 (K)You shall not make for yourself any gods cast in metal.
18 “You shall keep (L)the Feast of Unleavened Bread. For (M)seven days you are to eat unleavened bread, [g]as I commanded you, at the appointed time in the (N)month of Abib; for in the month of Abib you came out of Egypt.
19 “(O)The [h]firstborn from every womb belongs to Me, and all your male livestock, the [i]firstborn from [j]cattle and sheep. 20 (P)You shall redeem with a lamb the firstborn from a donkey; and if you do not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. You shall redeem (Q)all the firstborn of your sons. [k](R)None are to appear before Me empty-handed.
21 “You shall work (S)six days, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during plowing time and harvest you shall rest. 22 And you shall celebrate (T)the Feast of Weeks, that is, the first fruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the turn of the year. 23 (U)Three times a year all your males are to appear before the Lord [l]God, the God of Israel. 24 For I will [m](V)drive out nations from you and enlarge your borders, and no one will covet your land when you go up three times a year to appear before the Lord your God.
25 “(W)You shall not [n]offer the blood of My sacrifice with leavened bread, (X)nor is the sacrifice of the Feast of the Passover to [o]be left over until morning.
26 “You shall bring (Y)the very first of the first fruits of your soil into the house of the Lord your God.

10 Then the Lord said: “I am making a covenant(A) with you. Before all your people I will do wonders(B) never before done in any nation in all the world.(C) The people you live among will see how awesome is the work that I, the Lord, will do for you. 11 Obey what I command(D) you today. I will drive out before you the Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.(E) 12 Be careful not to make a treaty(F) with those who live in the land where you are going, or they will be a snare(G) among you. 13 Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones and cut down their Asherah poles.[a](H) 14 Do not worship any other god,(I) for the Lord, whose name(J) is Jealous, is a jealous God.(K)
15 “Be careful not to make a treaty(L) with those who live in the land; for when they prostitute(M) themselves to their gods and sacrifice to them, they will invite you and you will eat their sacrifices.(N) 16 And when you choose some of their daughters as wives(O) for your sons and those daughters prostitute themselves to their gods,(P) they will lead your sons to do the same.
17 “Do not make any idols.(Q)
18 “Celebrate the Festival of Unleavened Bread.(R) For seven days eat bread made without yeast,(S) as I commanded you. Do this at the appointed time in the month of Aviv,(T) for in that month you came out of Egypt.
19 “The first offspring(U) of every womb belongs to me, including all the firstborn males of your livestock, whether from herd or flock. 20 Redeem the firstborn donkey with a lamb, but if you do not redeem it, break its neck.(V) Redeem all your firstborn sons.(W)
“No one is to appear before me empty-handed.(X)
21 “Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest;(Y) even during the plowing season and harvest(Z) you must rest.
22 “Celebrate the Festival of Weeks with the firstfruits(AA) of the wheat harvest, and the Festival of Ingathering(AB) at the turn of the year.[b] 23 Three times(AC) a year all your men are to appear before the Sovereign Lord, the God of Israel. 24 I will drive out nations(AD) before you and enlarge your territory,(AE) and no one will covet your land when you go up three times each year to appear before the Lord your God.
25 “Do not offer the blood of a sacrifice to me along with anything containing yeast,(AF) and do not let any of the sacrifice from the Passover Festival remain until morning.(AG)
26 “Bring the best of the firstfruits(AH) of your soil to the house of the Lord your God.
“Do not cook a young goat in its mother’s milk.”(AI)
27 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write(AJ) down these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant(AK) with you and with Israel.” 28 Moses was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights(AL) without eating bread or drinking water.(AM) And he wrote on the tablets(AN) the words of the covenant—the Ten Commandments.(AO)
