^15 (A)Then Moses turned and went down from the mountain with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand, ^(B)tablets which were written on both ^[a]sides; they were written on one side and the other. ¹⁶ The tablets were God’s work, and the writing was God’s writing engraved on the tablets.

The Two Tablets Replaced

34 Now the Lord said to Moses, “Cut out for yourself ^(A)two stone tablets like the former ones, and ^(B)I will write on the tablets the words that were on the former tablets which you smashed.

²⁸ So he was there with the Lord for ^(A)forty days and forty nights; he did not eat bread or drink water. And ^[a](B)He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, ^(C)the Ten ^[b]Commandments.

¹⁰ The Lord gave me the two tablets of stone ^(A)written by the finger of God; and on them were all the words which the Lord had spoken with you at the mountain from the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly.
