^18 (A)They will ^[a]pay heed to what you say; and ^(B)you with the elders of Israel will come to the king of Egypt and you will say to him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. So now, please, let us go a ^(C)three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.’

²³ So I said to you, ‘^(A)Let My son go that he may serve Me’; but you have refused to let him go. Behold, ^(B)I will kill your son, your firstborn.”’”

Israel’s Labor Increased

5 And afterward Moses and Aaron came and said to Pharaoh, “^(A)Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘^(B)Let My people go that they may celebrate a feast to Me in the wilderness.’”

³ Then they said, “^(A)The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please, let us go a three days’ journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God, otherwise He will fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword.”
